  1. Manny Acta wears 3, I believe. 6'd be good. No 1 (too Mookie), no 9 (too Jefferies).
  2. !!! Damn! I'm pumped.
  3. Kid must be a MFY fan. Loser.
  4. ="Yancy Street Gang"]I noticed that some people voted O.Hernandez and others OHernandez. I'll have to see how it goes, but I think the O.Hernandez will be a problem, because the period may be interpreted as a decimal point. Unless you want to give him "zero point hernandez" points, in which case that's fine. Even though that's not technically a number.

  6. And now we know how to write "BOO" in Korean.
  7. Hey, someone give Cliff Floyd some back spasms so he can start hitting too.
  8. I like this Glavine kid. Gonna be a helluva pitcher someday.
  9. ="Edgy DC"]It's nice to know Julio Franco has a glove. They had to get him a new one; this is the one he brought to spring training this year:
  10. Oh, wait. Wrong Dave-CommonLastName combination.
  11. MFS62 wrote: That's still a heckuva lot better than Michael Kay's call of a home run by "The Giambino" every time Jason Giambi hits one. This makes me vomit. Every single time.
  12. Or Strawberry Shortcake.
  13. Alay, Alay, AlayAlayAlay! (Do they play soccer in Cuba? We should sing that chant when he pitches.)

Weird.I'd hope for your sake that Bannister, Zambo, and Maine arent on the active roster. We have five DL spots, so yeah, they're just hanging out. I apologize for bringing fantasy stuff out of the Fantasy Forum.

  16. Johnny Dickshot wrote: Soler = First Met to suit up in No. 59 since Ed Lynch in 1980. It's weird to see anyone numbered 59 in baseball. Kinda looks funny.
  17. Elster88 wrote: El Duque eats innings too, no? I figure if we're going to lose 10-5 on the fifth starter's day, let El Duque throw 180 pitches instead of letting Lima throw 75 and using the entire bullpen. Hard to eat innings when you're giving up nine runs every time out.
  18. Bret Sabermetric wrote: That's why it's briliant. Also because the guy is a innings eating machine, which this team needs like it needs oxygen. I think he had more complete games for Washington than the Mets own jockstraps. Wrong Hernandez. You're thinking of Livan.
  19. A "challenge" trade, maybe? I don't know if I like it or not.
  20. Edgy DC wrote: And the pitcher threw him a big bending curve that has had Reyes screwing himself into the ground lately. Speedy leadoof types can sometimes golf those low inside pitches. Many of them are switch-hitters who naturally hit right and that's the most natural part of their swing batting lefty while their opening up and turning toward first. Hernandez pointed out that he looked like Mookie. It's kind of puncher's luck when it happens, though. The baseball fairies were kind last night. Two things. One, Reyes certainly can be a quite a "leadoof" hitter. (Not criticizing, just amused.) Two, that Mookie corkscrew swing always made me laugh.
  21. Two interesting bits from Sports Weekly: ** Diamondbacks 1B Tony Clark has a clause in his contract that helps pay tribute to firefighters and police officers in Arizona. It allows firemen and cops to receive a complimentary ticket for each ticket they purchase. ** Brad Lidge, Astros: His demotion [from the closer role] didn't last long, especially after an injury to 2B Chris Burke led the Astros to bring veteran Joe McEwing up from Triple-A. The significance? McEwing showed Lidge how he was tipping his pitches, something the Astros suspected based on opposing hitters' reactions but had not been able to pinpoint. Lidge pitched three perfect innings before going back to his old role and saving the May 19 game against Texas.
  22. Is Cliff starting to lose his funk? Hope so.
  23. From the CBS Sportsline fantasy update on Sal Fasano: News: Sal Fasano (testicles) is back in the starting lineup for manager Charlie Manuel for Tuesday's game at the N.Y. Mets. He is batting eighth and starting behind the plate. This just makes me laugh. I'm going to call him "Testicles" from now on.
