  1. No, you'd sell it on eBay. (Or you'd send it to your dear friend who would love to have one for his card set for his newborn son.)
  2. Nice report. Went to Opening Day in New Britain last season; picked up a mini-bobblehead of Doug Mientkiewicz for five bucks in the team store.
  3. But Edgy, we lost to the Yankees. Wait... what's that? We're still in first place? But we lost to the Yankees. Doesn't that override the standings? What? We have an eleven game lead? And the best record in the National League? Yeah, but we lost to the Yankees. Doesn't that really mean more than some meaningless standings? What's that? If the season ended today we'd be in the playoffs and the Yankees wouldn't be? That can't be right. You must be reading something wrong. Yankee fans say they're always better, so it must be true.
  4. Go for it, 62. I enjoy posting Duck reports. We'll be in Norwich at the end of this month for a Sunday afternoon game.
  5. According to ESPN, that would be on Monday, because Pedro's skipping a start.
  6. I really used to like Tim McCarver, but he needs to just shut the hell up. He remarked today that the Yankees "have had more than their share" of injuries. Hey, Tim -- BULLSHIT. Jeter hurt? Unit? Giambi? Posada? Mussina? Damon? A-Rod? What? None of those guys has been hurt all year? They've lost two outfielders and a pitcher? That's it? Shut the F up, Tim.
  7. Gary Carter, managing the US squad in the All-Star Futures Game.
  8. ="Edgy DC"]I misunderstood. I thought they were tossing Jack Russell terrirers.

  10. Willets Point wrote: - Low point of the game: bratty teenage boy in front of me starts chanting "Mets Suck" and throwing peanuts at Mets fans. Just when I think his parents are going to intervene they start chanting and throwing peanuts too!!!!. This was the most classless family I've ever encountered. You know, ever since I've read this, I've been angry. It makes me want to call the Red Sox and file a complaint. Not only is it fucking obnoxious to do that, peanut allergies are deadly serious. If I was there, I would have not only called security, I would have been very, very tempted to press criminal charges against the little piece of crap and his family. I'm literally still shaking. Infuriating. Makes me want to kick the parents in the fucking teeth.
  11. When I was a kid, I had a baseball record book, and one of my favorite things in there was the list of all the guys who had struck out the side on nine pitches. I thought that was just about one of the coolest things you could do in baseball. I wonder where that book is now.

  13. THAT'S A CRAZY LOOKING STARTING LINEUP. WHY ARE WE SHOUTING?
  14. It's all good. It's just Pedro tormenting the Yankees one more time.
  15. ScarletKnight41 wrote: I guess this wasn't a big game. They beat a last-place team who had lost about 4500 straight games.
  16. I meant to post this yesterday, but forgot. Thanks. This is so great, you wonder if he wasn't serious.
  17. Actually, he's going to type that after every post now also, just in case someone wants to move his posts.

  19. COME ON, DAVID.
  20. Why'd he send him? Bad call. I know he's fast, but you gotta hold him with one out.
  21. Wow, that sucks about Gammons. I always enjoy his stuff. Too bad they made his columns only available through the Insider on espn.com.
  22. Yancy Street Gang wrote: ="Elster88"]I brought this up like 10 times in the World Cup thread and no one said a word. Is this mic on? I, for one, haven't been reading the World Cup thread. What's the World Cup?
