Nightcrawler was Zvon's (Valadius's?) nickname for Billy Wagner. It caught on like wildfire, as you can tell, and as a result, Valadius (Zvon?) was ridiculed so badly that he never jumped in the Pool ever again.

You actually had me until I remembered that there's no "h" in "Jon Adkins." Although if that was the case, I wouldn't sleep any more if I was a player in camp.

My lingering memory of Alay Soler will be the mysterious 2006 Topps card that appeared in packs last season. It was some sort of weird short-printed insert, and started selling for $60-$100. I was tempted to jump in on one, but figured it wouldn't be worth it in the long run. I think I was probably right, although there are two listed on eBay right now at $130-$150.

Thing is, it's selling on eBay for almost that much. I know in my head that the price will bottom out... so do I sell now, then pick it up for a couple of bucks down the road? Or does the price stay up, so I have to spend fifty bucks to get it back for my set? Bleh. Wish I'd pulled two.

My problem is this... I'm going to need that Jeter card for my set. Do I sell it now, get $100 bucks for it, and hope the price bottoms out and I can pick one up later? Hmmm....

Yeah, that card's an embarrassment. I'm down with Photoshopping guys into their new uni's: (Okay, so that image is still a little unsettling.) ...but that Jeter is going too far.

Cool recap. (Fix your links, though.) That Bobby Mosby is ENORMOUS. Yowza. edit: Mosby last year, at 24 years old in his second year of single-A ball (after three-plus seasons in the Rookie league): .237/.307/.412, with 12 home runs in 291 AB. (He had 19 HR in 255 AB in the rookie league in 04, and 9 in 179 AB in '03.) The caveat: 91 Ks in those 291 AB.
