  1. ...with this guy in right field next year? Figure Alou and Sosa at 115 games each... that leaves enough holes for Gomez and Church to get ABs. Sosa can't give us any less than Green did... I don't know that I'm necessarily for it, but I'm not against the thought.
  2. Or that Omar had signed his corpse to coach first base.
  3. CPF ROAD TRIP!
  4. Fort Lauderdale is nice, and it's not a bad drive from Jupiter or whatever. We went down there a few years ago, but the Mets switched their game in Lauderdale to somewhere else, and I couldn't convince my wife to see the Orioles and whoever they were playing, so we sold the tickets to the game and just spent a long weekend. It's not a bad trip.
  5. If a pitcher hits 40 home runs next year, I think he should be immediately tested for steroids.
  6. NERDS!
  7. I don't even know how you all post a silent post; it won't let me post nothing.
  8. Well, that sucks. I was just about to send him a baseball card to autograph, to go with my Duke Snider and Carl Erskine cards. Looks like I saved myself a few stamps.
  9. Five top prospects? Seems a bit steep, no?
  10. There is no planet on which Ken Griffey Jr is NOT a Hall of Famer. I know he's been hurt, but come on. It's not even a question.
  11. And at the time, would you have even thought that none of those guys -- Dawson, Raines, Rice, Murphy, Jack Morris -- were HoFers? They ripped up the league, played on All-Star teams every year... they were dominant players who are just not getting any love. I don't get it.

  13. Mama mia! (For what it's worth, I don't know that Donkey Kong is your traditional shortstop, but he probably has pretty good range. I do like Koopa on the mound, in the finest Wellsesque tradition.)
  14. Fantasy camp! I would love to do that some day. Welcome!
  15. I don't think McGwire will ever get in; Rice should finally be in next year.

  17. Looks like it's just Goose, which is crap. Rice got skrooed.
  18. I couldn't find my votes in this thread. I always use all ten of my votes: Tim Raines Bert Blyleven Andre Dawson Rich Gossage Mark McGwire Jack Morris Dale Murphy Dave Parker Jim Rice Alan Trammell
  19. Thunder. Maybe a year or two ago I would have said Aerosmith, but they've been so woefully unproductive the last couple of years, I've lost the fire.
  20. It's tempting to put the black artists with the black guys, isn't it? And wouldn't it be great if Tim Teufel was the salsa music fan?

Anyway Leyritz blew millions over the years. Blew It Big Time He was also working with 1050 ESPN Radio. I haven't had a chance to listen but I wonder what the Yankee sycophants on there (Max Kellerman, Steven A. Smith, Michael Kay, Brandon Tierney) are saying in his defense over this. I actually heard one of them while flipping the other day (it was Stephen A, I believe) who called it indefensible. Whether you're a Yankee face-sucker or not, the guy's a dickhead. Kinda like it was sad when Cory Lidle smacked his plane into a building, even if you hate the Yankees.
  22. Wait... Roger Clemens was in Milli Vanilli? Well, that explains a lot.
