  1. You know, I wish that Wright would do something in a big spot. He's so A-Rod. /sarcasm mode turned off
  2. Ugly, but okay. Let's get some back, fellas.
  3. Petey's rattled.
  4. Rollins is trying to win this game all by himself.
  5. Castro's kind of a candy-ass, isn't he? Buck up and play, dude.
  6. Ryan Howard is on pace for 213 strikeouts. That's fucking insane. I know he's hit 34 home runs, but if you're hitting .220 and striking out every third time up, that's sad.
  7. The first Met in history with four 100-RBI seasons. Strawberry had 97 in '84 and 93 in '86. David Wright is the berMet.
  8. ="seawolf17"]The last time Jamie Moyer pitched less than six innings against the Mets: ... Oh wait, it's never happened. Dude OWNS the Mets. 7-4, 2.85 in eighteen career starts, dating back to when he was a teammate of Davey Lopes. He gave up six runs in the third inning in a game in 2006, and was slapped around a bit by Keith Hernandez and Tim Teufel in August 1986 (in a game the Cubs won), but other than those two starts, it's sixteen starts with never more than three ER. (chuckle)
  9. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
  10. Okay, Fernando. Caught a little break there. Make 'em pay. I didn't notice in the Playbill tonight that the part of Davey Lopes is being played by a very tan Billy Joel.
  11. Someone get me instant replay!
  12. Suck it, Phillies. The division is OURS.
  13. Dammit. When I saw the thread title I was going to suggest "Total Reyeses." I hadn't thought of Scrabble tournament, though. I might get myself an MLB contract yet.

  15. I just thought it was funny that the guy's name was Hamburger.

Everyone had that kid who threw faster than everyone else. I remember "that kid" when I played -- he hit me on the hand with a pitch once, which was the only way I was ever reaching base against him -- and the kid who pitched when I was an umpire. Either you suck it up and live with it, or you move him up. The odd thing is, I've seen this story all over the place today (here, the Bench, ESPN radio and WFAN this morning), and that's what everyone's saying. Which means there's some sort of political garbage behind the scenes that we don't know about, and that's just really sad when you're talking about nine-year-olds playing baseball.

  19. Pelfrey 6 Delgado 3.5 Reyes 0.5
  20. Suck it, Phillies. Looking forward to this little two-game set.
  21. Outfielder Nelson Cruz, who lit up AAA to the tune of 37 home runs in 383 AB (a 1.124 OPS with only an 87/56 K/BB ratio), is on his way back up to the big leagues with Texas. He hit a three-run home run today against Kansas City. Why do we care? http://www.baseball-reference.com/c/cruzne02.shtml February 17, 1998: Signed by the New York Mets as an amateur free agent. August 30, 2000: Traded by the New York Mets to the Oakland Athletics for Jorge Velandia. Funny.
  22. I love you, Mike Pelfrey. Booking around third and scoring standing up! Risky move, but it's all good.
  23. I love you, Carlos Delgado.
  24. They've gone from trolling the Pool to trolling our minds.
