  1. Throwing a bunch of guesses at #23. Charlie Hudson? (He was a starter, but he's the first guy who comes to mind.) Kip Gross Al Holland Wayne Twitchell as the Metly connection.
  2. I've taken the word over to The Bench; I use it all the time in trade discussions there.

For the life of me I can't fathom why there has been no sequel, and we watched again the other night....my son often calls me "Sully" in that Mike Wazowski voice..... Monsters University, the prequel to Monsters, Inc., due 2013. I'm actually really excited for this. The sequel to The Incredibles hasn't panned out, though.
  4. Strange is still active -- and on the roster -- in my OOTP Baseball league; he missed the last half of 2011 with a rotator cuff injury, but: 2010: 2-1, 1.84 ERA/1.14 WHIP in 44 IP out of the pen 2011: 0-0, 3.06 ERA/1.36 WHIP in 32 1/3 IP before the injury 2012: 1-0, 1.40 ERA/0.83 WHIP in 19 1/3 IP so far (it's May) Only a handful of actual Mets on my fake Mets team, and he's one of them (Wright, Reyes, Murphy, Thole, and half credit for Darren O'Day and Chris Young).
  5. This should be the John Franco award, or maybe the Jesse O Award?
  6. Rodriguez Byrdak Isringhausen Acosta Parnell

Jon Heyman says the Yankees have been in more WS than any other team ever, therefore, they must have been there more times than the Cardinals in the last ten years. [/mfyfanlogic]
  8. I was on the LIE, driving home from Greenwich High School, when Endy caught that ball; nearly drove off the road. I thought there was no way they lost that game after that. (Sigh.)
  9. Which is funny, because a little part of me died in 2006.
  10. Texas once again. One, because of my friend Corey, and two, because we took 2 out of 3 from them and are therefore better than the champs.
  11. Dickey Gee Niese Capuano Young
  12. Gee Duda Turner Beato Pridie
  13. That clip is radio comedy gold.
  14. Let's not get too crazy about believing what comes out of Gammons' twitter account, as hilarious as it is.

  16. Each participant starts with a list of five Met-related personalities; you're matched up against one other participant, bracket-style, and you each have to pick one of those participants and write a song parody about your person. One combatant opens a poll thread and posts his/her tune; the second post in the thread is held for the opponent. Then we vote; the winner absorbs the loser's unused players (giving them a total of eight to choose from after the first round, for example) and moves on.

Nineteen folks in: seawolf17 edgy dc metirish transmonk metsmarathon sharpie jcl attgig fman99 theoldmole lwfs ashie62 gfafif abnseo themetfairy valadius ceetar benjamingrimm vic sage I'll get the Met-scrambulizer up and running as soon as we finalize the all-time Top 500 (FK?), and we'll hit the ground running on or around November 1. (Still plenty of seats at the table, folks.)
  20. The only one I have my eyes on is that chick in the yellow behind home plate. Yowza. You mean "Front Row Amy"? http://deadspin.com/front_row-amy/
  21. You're tryintuh tell me that El Dooque... was a Met. Come on. You a kid? You trying to be funny, posting here saying Orlando Hernandez... was a Met. Okay. Now it's a game, posting all sorts of guys you say were Mets. Very nice.
  22. Didn't Dan Quisenberry get that? Or was it just a lifetime contract?
  23. I nodded off right after Swish K'ed to end the 7th, and woke up just in time to hear them doing the end-game recap. Was confident that the wheels would come off there after that infield single, and when they didn't, I figured it was just a matter of time before some other horseshit thing happened. Glad I was wrong.
  24. Texas; for Nolan, Endy, and my friend Corey at Abilene Christian, the only Rangers fan I know.
  25. There is no bigger doosh in all of sports-talk radio.
