  3. Ah, Nick. We hardly knew ye.
  4. 4.5. I thought it was really, really well done. The right mix of schmaltz, humor, & cameos (Dave Grohl!) for me.
  5. Dude's been an outfielder for three years; I had no idea. When I saw the post on Twitter I thought it was a misprint.

  7. Seriously, people, cats suck. It's called the "Most Valuable Player." Pitchers players? Yup. Then they count. Congrats to Justin Verlander.
  8. And Justin Verlander gets an MVP Award to go with his Cy, the first pitcher to win both since Eck in 1992.
  9. Looking back more deeply, I know why Raines sticks in my head. His first game back was a Saturday game against the Mets that I probably watched: http://www.leaptoad.com/mets/gamedetail.php?gameno=4044

  11. I distinctly remember Tim Raines being subject to that rule, but can't remember anyone else being affected by it. Looking back, it was 1987; and despite missing a month, he still led the NL with 123 runs. It's still surprising to me that he's not a HoFer.
  12. I remember getting my first batting glove. I was sure it would turn me into a big-time hitter. (It did not.)
  13. We should start a smear campaign!

  16. Saw that Mike Herbst was reassigned too; new guy is 2008 Pacific Coast League Trainer of the Year Brian Chicklo. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20111115&content_id=25981868&vkey=news_mlb&c_id=mlb
  17. I'll definitely remember the beard.
  18. I'm assuming/hoping that's Narcotics Anonymous.
  19. Stearns for me. Darling's a 44 in my mind.
  20. I don't think 4/70 gets him. They'll have to top $90M, regardless of years. He's not leaving money on the table.
  21. Maybe, but that's the perception when Reyes is a Marlin and Pelf gives up fourteen runs in two-thirds of an inning on April 6, 2012, abetted by four Pagan errors.

It would mean tossing Paulino over and living with Thole plus Nickeas plus rookies and journeymen. I agree with every one of your statements. Shed, shed, and toss. Except Alderson has pointed out that he feels he can afford to sign the other players they need AND Reyes. So the Mets aren't looking to pinch pennies from one to pay for another. Yes, it could get sticky if the the team plays worse next year, but it definitely will if they don't sign him. I'm just saying that lost in this whole thing is that I think those three specific guys should be former Mets.

  24. Remember early in the season when we were talking about Turner making some RoY noise? Yeah.
  25. Edgy DC wrote: They hang their trophies in a closet? That's really stupid. All part of my point.
