Buy them a pair of Highball glasses or a Noritake Colorwave bowl in chocolate here. The nosejob may have been the dealbreaker. You know..to increase his repertoire.

Gonna have to expand the ballot to 20 to catch up.. The BBWAA made their point, now rollem in...

Steroids schmeroids....its part of the era... base your vote on the compilation of work. That will level the field for the douchnoozles that vote.

Could be the year for Gil Hodges then..

I am surprised Hairston has been out there this long...

I would vote for Biggio ahead of Raines...

Sandy is quoted as saying it is conceivable that thats it for now which is what I posted. Not Rubin's words at all.

Orioles at 28-1 I like...

Sandy says that may be about it for improving the OF, for now anyway.. http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/mets/post/_/id/59746/alderson-conceivable-mets-done-adding-ofs

Jorge Toca is remembered for frequently losing his grip on his bat. He last played in the Mexican league..However, Jorge proved to be abit ahead of his time in being suspended on 5/12/2005 15 games for violating Minor League drug policy. Well done Jorge. Clem Labine

I just wish he would stay healthy long enough to find out what he can do....

The New Mets Finances Thread - v.2012 Offseason

I'm on your side here. Baxter, Cowgill, Brown are almost faceless interchangeable fringe major and or minor leaguers... We are not going to get a player better than Hairston in 2013 for the OF and at this point I doubt the Mets will "splurge" for him. Regarding Mike Baxter, I do not understand the love he seems to get here. He made a great catch and he is from Flushing. Thats really about it and at his age the ceiling most likely has been touched. Maybe the pursestrings loosen in 2014, I hope... -
I'd like to hope that Flores develops into a corner OF with lotsa pop. Has Reese Havens kinda fallen off the prospect chart..He turns 27 soon...
-
The OF options never seem to cease!

Rick Herrscher played his one and only season with the 1962 Mets. He became an orthodontist in 1972 and has been fixing smiles for 30 years.. Ralph Terry

This is tough Can Sandy sign Eeyore to close?

I would say the Wilpons treat the Mets as an apartment building and the fans as tenants... -
Thats why I don't take either institutions very seriously anymore..

Eeyore is pitching balls out of his ass...

John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Converted shortstop. The last MLB game of his career occurred on my 39th birthday. Gave up 5 runs in the 9th inning to the Angels. How about ... Joe Orsulak? Orsulak played on the same Parsippany Hills HS as Ashie...Excellent pitcher and soccer player.

I don't like the idea of this closed community of voters influencing each other with their own gossip and inuendo when voting time comes up. And like the workings of Congress the HOF Board and BBWAA are not likely to change much of anything..

Maurice "Goose" Goozo was part of the package sent to Toronto for David Cone. Today Goose run Goose's Gamers AAU team and Academy. How about Skip Lockwood...
-
How about "term limits" for the HOF voters...

The New Mets Finances Thread - v.2012 Offseason
ashie62 replied to batmagadanleadoff's topic in New York Mets Talk
Everything has a price...The additional financing ensures the Wilpons don't necessarily have to sell at todays low...The Mets are an ocean liner turning around, it takes a long time....But, when it does the value and quality of the brand could spike up quickly.
