If I felt that anywhere, it's the nearly $30 in NYC tolls to get there. Nope, highway tolls are way below they would be at market rates. Parking too. There is mass transit..From NJ it doesnt pay to drive.. Morris/Essex line $14.50 round trip and then the 7.. I agree with Greg...Those who want to pony up for the exotics have at it...How about some hot dogs, peanuts and soda on the cheap. The downside for the Mets is they may find the Hot dog lines 50 deep and the exotics lonely. Sometimes its' just a matter of price elasticity. Does the Lobster egg roll love you long time? If so $16 is a bargain..
  2. I'd like to see D'Arnaud prosper as a leadoff hitter..
  3. Peter Gabriel is also on "the List"
  4. Mets Cesar Puello and our old buddy Fmart linked to Biogenesis Per Rubin...
  5. I'm more concerned about D'Arnauds disc issue from 2010. I hope these injuries aren't the reason the kid is on his third organization at such a young age.
  6. Why do you have to have a guy sent back to NY for a cortisone shot...The team must have an M.D. on site for the simple stuff..
  7. Kong76 wrote: Thanks. I guess I meant has anyone sent in like 25 cards instead of going through someone or to a show. There are occasional shows near me with reps but if I remember right they don't want to do that many in one sitting or something. Yes..BCCG 100 cards $500
  8. Kong76 wrote: There is a glut of Nolan Ryan rookie cards on ebay. Did he do something bad like kick his puppy and everyone is liquidating? At the moment there is a glut of everything. Grading..You are paying for an opinion...Grading is more important for the larger dollar cards and moreso for those that are commonly forged such as the Michael Jordan RC Bench 68 Topps Seaver RC Ryan RC 1952 Mantle etc. They charge by quantity mailed in for grading and how fast you want it back..Figure $8 or so...SGC Sportscard Guaranty is very good. Beckett offers discount grading through the BCCG brand.. For me SGC and PSA are headquarted in my hometown and have a table at the weekly show...If the card needs the protection from the slabbing and certification I would recommend it. Hope that helps.
  9. Does Bonilla have anything left in the tank?

  14. This link is from an Anabolic Steroid website that explains how Tamoxifen manipuates estrogen to increase testosterone....I doubt Marlon was using it as a breast cancer preventative... http://forums.steroid.com/showthread.php?462646-Tamoxifen-Citrate-Nolvadex-Profile As far as Jose goes he bought the ticket and is taking the ride.. all the way to Canada and beyond.
  15. metsguyinmichigan wrote: I worry that the option will be will be a needless distraction all season. The team should come out and say something like "We hope Johan has a healthy season, wins the Cy Young Award and triggers the option." so we don't have to hear the discussion every time Terry walks out to the mound in the sixth inning. This would be ideal but it is New York...You just know we will be hit over the head by the blogosphere around trade deadline time whether the Mets are in First or last... There will likey be a Santana buy or sell type thread on this forum this season if there isn't already...
  16. For this generation perhaps
  17. In this case I believe Wilpon over Medgal. In the interview my impression was Sandy saw Bourn as a poor investment rather than something that was unaffordable. I'm optimistic...
  18. Alderson had the ok to get Bourn according to Rubins interview today with Fred. Again Medgal is wrong.
  19. I prefer to remember him for what he did on the fied. These are just book selling excerpts..
  20. Do not replace fishing time with Beer time..
  21. Add 26 year old Zach Lutz to the growing OF list.

  23. Braun confesses on the back of his 2012 Baseball card "he's become a superstar paddling little white balls in his real job."
  24. A few years ago the Yankees were at Detroit and Jeter accepted an award for his foundation from the Mayor of Detroit at home plate. As quickly as Jeter shook the Mayors hand, a Mayor's flunkie jammed a ball and pen in Jeters face. Caught Jeter off guard but he signed it on reflex..
