  1. More like Trevor Meh
  2. I just associate that # with sluggers - Hank Aaron, Reggie, Willie McCovey. Pete should totally wear that #44 full time.
  3. =metsmarathon post_id=114942 time=1671196364 user_id=83] i gotta say, and maybe i'm somewhat biased here, but with as crazy as the contracts have been this year, i like the deals the mets signed a hell of a lot better than the ones other teams signed.
  4. I like him but he's not the missing part we need. And I think he holds out for at least a two year deal, and I wouldn't give him more than one.
  5. I honestly want to see Baty and Alvarez at 8/9 in this lineup for a few months to see what they can do. I feel like the top 7 guys (this is presuming Escobar/Vogelberg DH platooning most days - so Nimmo, Marte, Lindor, Alonso, McNeil, Canha, and EscoVogel), assuming they're all healthy and on the field, should be able to carry the offense while those two learn the ropes.
  6. Los Angeles is the perfect landing spot for Thor. He's been dodging us since he left the team.
  7. Watched him quite a bit at Syracuse in 2022. He did all right here. I conflated him with Travis Jankowski.
  8. Luis can catch anything, even shit from ignorant shoppers.
  9. Was great until he sucked big fat dongus against ATL in September and San Diego in October. So, you know, thanks and stuff, but also, not sad at all that he's pitching elsewhere in 2023.
  10. I give #48 away to the next guy who requests it. You want to salt that number away, you come talk to me when he's no longer an active MLB player. Right now he can eat a hot wet bag of Texas farts. Same here, exactly. Also, maybe someone can tell deGrom that the Mets signed Senga and Verlander because the Mets dont wanna win the WS. I looked it up. The Rangers haven't won even 80 games since 2016. So they suck and have sucked and will continue to suck. They never tell the truth, though, do they? It's always the same old bullshit line. I'm trying to remember one time where a guy said, "Yeah, I signed there, they offered me the most money. I mean, duh." Is anyone going to dispute that?
  11. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: How soon do you reissue #48? I'd offer it to Senga, since he can't get #41. I'm 100% good with this. I think it's more likely that Senga takes over #40 now that Bassitt is most unlikely to return. I give #48 away to the next guy who requests it. You want to salt that number away, you come talk to me when he's no longer an active MLB player. Right now he can eat a hot wet bag of Texas farts.
  12. Yeah he's full of shit. This is just 2022's Mike Hampton and his undying love of the Colorado school system.
  13. I like the numbers comparison, too. deGrom to TX - 5 yrs/$185 mil Verlander, Quintana, Senga - 2/$86 mil + 2/$26 mil + 5/$75 mil = 9/$187 million
  14. Just watched footage of him making MLB hitters look pretty foolish in the 2017 WBC. Love this move. He's got some filthy stuff.
  15. He seemed to pull the Mets' chestnuts out of the fire on many an occasion over the last two years. Underrated but important to have that swingman/long man/spot starter guy. I suspect that ultimately Magill or Peterson will end up in that role, or Joey Lucchesi perhaps, or someone not yet on the roster?
  16. You'd think after the Hosmer deal they'd have learned about throwing too much money at guys who will clearly not be able to duplicate their successes in that park. But what do I know, I'm just a caveman, your world frightens and confuses me
  17. This is great news. He's really a player that didn't have an equivalent out there in the FA market so I'm glad he's staying put.
  18. Hates gays and vaccines. Loves lefty on lefty matchups.
  19. Seems like a bargain next to Walker's recently signed deal. I like it. Slots in currently as the #4 and I like him better yet as the #5 should they bring Senga in, or Bassitt comes back.
  20. Him nodding and smiling when he found out that Diaz was going to pitch a second inning and close out a big game at some point this past season. Good little moment there.
  21. I'm inviting Kate Upton to a winter meating
  22. So they've "replaced" deGrom with Verlander. I would have to assume that Walker and Bassitt both get replaced (or resigned, less likely I would guess) with comparable FA's out there, allowing them to continue to hold Magill and Peterson in reserves as your #6-#7 guys with upside.
  23. I'm on the board
  24. Major addition here. Very excited. I'm engorged with anticipation, in fact. Who is Justin Verlander though?
