    I don't really understand why MLB lets teams set a special one day wild card roster to begin with. They should be forced to set a LDS roster and then use that. It's kind of a farce this way.

    Going to be in Chicago this coming weekend for the Chicago Marathon. If the Mets win Friday night I think I'll be shelling out to attend Mets v Cubs, game 1 Friday night at Wrigley. My first ever postseason game!

    Latest word is that Thor will just be throwing a bullpen session and not appearing at all in the game.

    Napped through innings 1-6, watched 7-8 at home and then had to leave for a 4 PM appointment with a kitchen remodeling consultant at Home Depot. Caught the top of the 9th en route and the bottom of the 9th on my phone in the store. Good stuff.

    According to GKR, they may cobble together an entire start on Friday using the bullpen. Which, of course, would be delightful. This was originally their plan for Saturday but since the game is a national broadcast, the Phillies don't want to embarrass themselves (beyond what they've already done to embarrass themselves in the standings this year, of course).

    Given the emotions attached to Monday's game, that the Marlins brought on to the field with them, I think taking the last two games was really the best case scenario, realistically.

    I've used this line once already but this mound conference with the Marlins pitching coach may be my last chance to use it this season: 'You know nothing Juan Nieves' Unless this line is said by a naked red headed wildling, I will have trouble rousing my interest levels, if you dig me.
