  1. It's Game 7 and I'm going to bed. I just don't care. Plus I'm a tired old man.
  2. These all suck. I get that it's winter. Still not any action shots. No wonder the printed press is dying a slow death.
  3. =batmagadanleadoff post_id=25441 time=1572400564 user_id=68] The most annoying thing about watching a World Series - any World Series: Do the announcers ever talk about players' season stats? Or at least show them? Because obviously, whatever a player did in his last three games is much more meaningful than what he did over the first 162 games.
  4. Justin Verlander sucks ass.
  5. He's been animated by crazy moon men. They have giant green erections. Don't ask me for my sources I will not reveal them.
  6. Watched two hours of baseball. Got to maybe the 5th or 6th inning. Totally ridiculous. Stop calling time out. Stop stepping off the mound. Play fucking baseball.
  7. Hate Joe Buck, what a bore.
  8. He sounds like just another dipshit to me
  9. =G-Fafif post_id=24811 time=1571586373 user_id=55] HousTON WashingTON In the battle to succeed BosTON And, as has always been and always will be the case in these 2010s, not a pinstripe in sight.
  10. I put this in the other thread, but, yes, I had a similar time line. I started college in the fall of 1991 and I was too busy [crossout]chasing ass[/crossout] [crossout]smoking drugs[/crossout] working on my degree to follow the game.

Bogar played mainly during my "Wilderness Years" when I was out of state, no games on TV, fresh off "Worst Team" era, and the strike that led to an additional year of pay-no-mind-to-baseball. Basically I missed almost the entire Dallas Green Era, returning only in time to see it end. I had a similar experience, I went off to college in '91, and they got bad right after that, and I didn't really start to pay attention again until the fall of '96, after I had gotten my first job and needed some way to pass the time in a town where I didn't really know anyone. I was listening to internet broadcasts using Real Audio for free, right before they put up the initial paywalls. Got me real cable in time for the 1997 season.
  12. 'Stros for me. I know too many irritating Nats fans.
  13. Willets Point wrote: Well that was definitely the SECOND best Game 6 of an LCS between Houston and New York ever. Truth!
  14. Missed the ending because of tired-old-man-itis, but, happy to see how it turned out.
  15. As someone who lives in a AAA city that annually under draws, and can't sell out their stadium, this kind of chatter makes me nervous. I also used to live in Watertown, NY, in the 1990's, and they lost their A ball team around the same time I left town, and while it was replaced by a non affiliated semi-pro team, it wasn't the same. My friends who were and are baseball fans who still live up there still haven't gotten over that loss. I know my city is no danger of losing their MiLB team, but still.
  16. Peace out, Yankees of the National League. And, you know, fuck off.
  17. Yeah, fuck all that, exactly.
  18. Watched none of this game. Between Houston leaving all of those on, plus it being a MFY game, plus the national broadcasters, and the pace of play, well, let's just say, not really sucking me in.
  19. I'm rooting against the Cardinals because they are the "Yankees of the National League." Which means, you know, fuck them. The Nats have never won shit. Plus, I enjoy the idea of Bryce Harper watching his former team win without him.
  20. I had friends who enjoyed it. I'd never watch it because the premise is just too stupid for me to buy into.
  21. Go 'Stros. Still the best shot of whose left at beating the MFY's, if you ask me. "Most" anything "in postseason history" records are the dumbest. They added so many games! Just stifle all that.
  22. I want Edgardo. Mets pedigree, can communicate with Latino ballplayers, been managing in the minors, friendly, personable. Even coming off a championship in 2019. What the hell else do you want?
  23. Stupid managing. Hey, here's a thought. You won 106 games using a bullpen. Let those guys pitch. Beyond dumb.
  24. My TV is too big for me to have to look at slo-mo close ups of a 107 year old Tommy LaSorda.
  25. And it's blowing up on them. How. Stupid. Didn't they have a five man rotation that won them 100+ games? Hey, it's the playoffs, let's reinvent the wheel.
