  1. If you keep those muscles properly trained, and exert them, then you should be fine. This is just what I've learned in my life.
  2. Yeah, Apple & Zeile are definitely not Gary and Keith/Ron. The B squad, to be certain.
  3. It's OK, I understand. They live on in our hearts.
  4. I love the CPF companion site idea. I feel like Suzyn Waldman and John Sterling (or, I should specify, the uber disquieting puppet versions of them that live in my brain) should get some kind of sidebar or feature there.
  5. Jeff McNeil was probably playing and raking if we were winning by a bunch.
  6. Pete dropped at least one F-bomb that I heard, so, apparently, they just weren't that quick with the dump button. The best part was Dom Smith saying in his last miked at bat that the pitcher had not yet this spring thrown him a first pitch fastball. And so he did, and Dom was sitting on it and just missed an opposite field home run.
  7. He's back to choking up and putting it in play. This is first half squirrel, the .335 guy with occasional juice, not the second half squirrel that hit .270 with more power and held the bat at the knob (or where the knob would be). He can be either hitter, I think, at will, depending on what his approach is.
  8. I enjoyed the chatter as well. The guys they miked up (Davis, McNeil, Alonso, Smith, Cano) all seemed to have fun with it and to be enjoying their spring. Nice change of pace.
  9. Jed Lowrie, come on down.
  10. No replay on ESPN games, but I was happy to remember to set my YoutubeTV DVR to record this game, so that I can watch it tonight.
  11. Yeah the range of possible outcomes for him is greater than any other Met on the roster, dare I say.
  12. Cy Young #3. Repeat of last two years - middling record, 14-9, something like that, but ERA around 1.90 and tons of K's.
  13. Lol. Gloves everything. Doesn't hit, ever. Goes home every night and prays at a shrine to Omar Quintanilla or some other shit-ass infielder who also couldn't hit.
  14. Edgy MD wrote: I guess the first eight here is as good a peek as any at what Luis Rojas' opening day lineup is going to look like — at least, what it's going to look like if Céspedes isn't ready.. I said that to my son - thinking that aside from maybe seeing J.D. Davis in left in lieu of Dom Smith, depending on how his shoulder heals.
  15. I already forgot how I did it, sorry. It was laborious, I can tell you that much.
  16. I will once again be ignoring the real time updates in favor of a fresh 8 PM replay on SNY tonight.
  17. I'm more concerned about the fact that I have just 3 pitchers currently on my roster. All the rest of them were too terrible to keep even at bargain basement pricing. So, another question - is there any kind of 'setting lineups' in this league? Is that a daily or weekly event? Or does everyone on my roster contribute to the team stats every day?
  18. Well it turns out I had a lot of dogshit on my roster. I kept most of my higher end guys and I have $154 to spend on filling 26 spots. I predict a lot of $2 flyers in my future.
  19. Amen to that, Kase. Baseball, on TV. Gary & Ron calling the game. Mets up 3-0 in the 7th. I don't ask for much.
  20. Love the replay. No spoilers because the game doesn't count anyway.
  21. Thanks, that helps.
  22. So I claimed JCL's team and I'm like $70 over the $400 cap. But I have no idea who to cut or how far under $400 I need to go to be able to effectively start 2020 anew.
  23. Sadly not replayed in the evening. Hey, SNY dudes, you know that you can rewind and replay these games, instead of showing this lineup of prime time garbage you queued up, right?
  24. Sucks to be a MFY fan and also a YouTube TV subscriber, as they're going to give YES the boot starting on Saturday. So that's pretty great.

    FotF

Wow, I don't know how I missed this thread a year ago. I will tell you that Lee Mazzilli was my first "favorite Met," as a little kid, before they got good, so that jives. Don't discount McNeil as a potential FotF. He's just as marketable as the Piss Missile.
