Had a hot dog, a hot pretzel and a souvenir soda yesterday, and it set me back $22. Pricey, but not world-ending. Didn't have a beer but did get one of the Home Run Apple ice creams in my avatar (hey, it was hot!). That set me back $15.99 but I have another one in my ever-expanding collection of them. They're excellent small snack bowls.
Well, make that 5 1/2 over the Phillies and an even 15 over the Braves. In the last ten games, the Mets are 8-2, the Phillies are 3-7, and the Nats, Braves and Marlins are 2-8. That's how you pull away in the division.
An Amed Rosario sighting! He was gonna be the next big thing; never happened. Fangraphs says he's made $19,774.440 in his baseball career though, which is about $19,774,440 more than any of us, so.... Advantage Amed.
I had this weird feeling last night that no matter what the score was, they were going to win. Had it when they were down 3-0 and 4-2 late. I encounter this feeling very rarely with the Mets. I like it and want it to continue.
You have to think that the Yankees would love to steal Alonso, after the Mets stole Soto from under their noses. Goldschmidt only has a one-year contract, so he'd fit perfectly. He'll cost a lot less than Soto and it would be a dagger to a lot of Met fans.
