1. Yeah, pretty ugly, but I don't throw any of them back.
2. Senga looks like crap tonight.
3. Fine for a meaningless exhibition game. But that's it.
4. Was listening to the radio last week and Raad was paired with Anthony Recker, who wasn't bad except that maybe he talked too much. (Perhaps not a handicap on a radio broadcast, I guess.) With a little work he might improve. He's popped up on MLB Network broadcasts as well, so somebody likes him.
5. Gelbs is just.....not good. You get used to the cadence of Gary Cohen and Gelbs just messes things up. He goes a few pitches without mentioning the count, and Gary always gives the count even if he or Keith or Ron are in the middle of a story (I'm betting that's his radio training). There's more but that one really annoys me. Gelbs better not be the replacement when Gary finally hangs up his microphone, although it certainly seems like he's being groomed in that direction.
6. Nobody seems particularly worried about pulling forward Hayden Senger's free agency. Of course by then he could be playing down in Africa.
7. Baseball can be a harsh business, Francisco. He didn't help by basically playing lousy. If he's hitting, this isn't an issue.
8. =metirish post_id=197618 time=1752062560 user_id=72] Glorious, not a great call though
9. The Phillies didn't just lose last night, they lost on a walk-off 3-run inside the park homer. https://www.mlb.com/news/patrick-bailey-hits-walk-off-inside-the-park-home-runhttps://www.mlb.com/news/patrick-bailey-hits-walk-off-inside-the-park-home-run
10. Not the way you would draw it up but a good win. I always hold my breath when Brazoban comes in because he's a real box o'chocolates. Last night the chocolates were tasty. Was thisclose to turning off the set when Holmes had his blowup inning, but hung around and was rewarded by Kaboom!
11. "Pop' Goes My Heart! (Yes, it's THAT Hugh Grant)
12. Gotta be better than Zach Pop.
13. He was really good, emphasis on the 'was'.
14. A woulda-coulda-shoulda game. It was a pretty good effort considering it was their ace against the back of the Mets' bullpen. Split the season series, so no bragging rights for your blowhard MFY friends.
15. All they have to do is score 4 runs in the first inning and figure it out from there. Easy-peasy.
16. Montas, Senga, Peterson, Manaea, Holmes. That's how they drew it up in the offseason. Canning was the 6th starter, Megill was #7 and Blackburn was #8. Didn't play out that way, at least so far. Holmes might have to skip a start or two down the line. But I think the 6 man rotation is on hold for now. Montas, Manaea and Senga will not have thrown that many innings so hopefully they're fresh late in the year. Let's see what Brandon Waddell brings to the table tomorrow.
17. Nice but would have preferred no Diaz.
18. Stanek bends but does not break.
19. Okay, no more screwing around, boys.
20. That ball JUMPED off Alonso's bat.
21. And that, my friends, is some aggressive baseball.
22. Need moar runs please.
23. Hoping I will love Lovelady here.
24. It's like a summer day at Wrigley today. The balls are flying.
25. Well, there's one.....
