  1. 1. The Mets record will be? 79-83 2. Where will The Mets finish in the NL East? 4th 3. Will The Mets make the playoffs (yes/no)? Well, no. 4. If so, how far will they advance and the number of games in their final round? N/A 5. Who wins the World Series (can be the same answer a Q.4)? San Diego Padres 6. How many home runs will Pete Alonso hit? 35 Strong division. An incomplete rotation. Weak bullpen. Inevitable injuries. Defense better but still suspect. This won't be the joy ride many writers seem to think it'll be.
  2. Sues Cellino for $100 million. Hilarity ensues.
  3. Suck it up, buttercup. I tore my meniscus in 2011 and I was able to watch baseball the very next day.
  4. Edgy MD wrote: Dellin Betances gets POUNDED in the fifth and the Mets fall behind 4-1. Dellin is a worry. Yeah, when a guy says that he's lost 6 MPH of his fastball but he's learning to work around it, that's a concern. I still maintain that Betances is the MFY revenge for Pedro Feliciano.
  5. Edgy MD wrote: She's got a wide, toothy smile, and seems to love her guy, who kind of gives off a menacing-backwoods-madman kinda vibe, so hats off to her. I lol'd at this.
  6. Black uniforms are evil. Pete has a good but not great year and Dom Smith probably gets occasional time at first. 38/100/.255
  7. https://twitter.com/mets/status/1366400663337508869?s=21https://twitter.com/mets/status/1366400663337508869?s=21 And that's doing it the right way.
  8. Love the Umpire State Building.
  9. Kelenic's a troublemaker. Glad we're rid of him. . . . . . . . . . (OK, just kidding.)
  10. I'm perfectly OK with him not being here. He would have been a distraction. His act will get old fast.
  11. Well, since I started the thread they got Taijuan Walker which fixes the hole in the rotation at least. Still don't trust the bullpen, and the defense will be so-so (Lindor is obviously a huge upgrade, McCann a moderate upgrade, but 3rd and CF/LF will be interesting).
  12. It's not ideal defensively, but your best lineup is obviously Dom in left, Pete at first and JD at third. Lindor is going to get a lot of exercise this year. And Pillar, Villar and Guillorme are going to get a lot of late-inning defense time.
  13. I just get the feeling that after a couple of games with Pete at third we'd be begging to have JD Davis back.
  14. And we're just at the pitchers and catchers stage. Dodger fans are going to get tired of Bauer's schtick pretty quickly. Thank pitchforks and pointed ears we didn't sign him.
  15. =Fman99 post_id=56807 time=1614172221 user_id=86] Looks like as per SNY's web site the first televised Grapefruit league game will be on Tuesday March 2nd at 1 PM. Mets vs. Astros. Replayed at 8 PM.
  16. There are 6 people on this list that have not been alive as long as I have been at my current job. I'm not sure how to feel about that.
  17. Looks like plenty of dbag to go around.
  18. Rite-Rate was going with the '64 Impala, a step up from the Yellow Cab '64 Bel Air. So Tug and Gary went first class.
  19. Havana fell to Castro on January 1st, 1959. The cab is a 1964 Chevy Bel Air. And in the background is a 1968 Dodge Coronet. So I'd put this picture around 1968 or '69 at the earliest.
  20. Johnny Damon, menace to society. (Great Snooze lede.) Johnny Damon, having already loudly supported Donald Trump and whined about coronavirus restrictions, completed the retired baseball player Triple Crown on Friday with a DUI in Florida. Orlando-area cops pulled over Damon early Friday morning, when he registered a whopping 0.30 on a blood alcohol test, according to TMZ. (The legal limit in Florida is 0.08.) Damon was arrested just after 1 a.m., when he was charged with a DUI. According to police, his wife, Michelle Mangan-Damon, shoved a cop and was charged with resisting arrest. The Damons appeared together on the reality show “Below Deck” in 2019. https://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/yankees/ny-johnny-damon-dui-20210219-362giia2ovdzxionxjm4d64kra-story.htmlhttps://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/yankees/ny-johnny-damon-dui-20210219-362giia2ovdzxionxjm4d64kra-story.html With Damon being a famous Trump supporter and Florida being the scumbag state that it is, they'll probably let Damon off scot-free. Boy, .30 blood alcohol, I'm surprised he could find his car. He's lucky he didn't kill someone.
  21. Just hope that he's focused on the mound. He's got a lot going on from the necklace up.
  22. Yeah, deep depth is a good thing when nobody threw a lot of innings last year. I wasn't OK with Lucchesi being the #5, but I'm OK with him being the #6.
  23. He'll do as your #4. When he gets drunk, does he really 'Taijuan on'?
  24. Well, being forced to change dark horses in the middle of the stream, I'll pick Franklyn Kilome. Just because.
  25. Ay caramba. They'll be paying him until 2035, which is when the Mets finally stop paying Bobby Bonilla. There's no way this works out well for the Padres in the long run. 14 years is ridiculous. At some point they'll be a rebuilding team and this will look even more ridiculous.
