  1. I loved the arm, hated the strike outs. More than anything, I'll remember the smile. It was nice to see someone in the Majors get it like he did. He knew he was a lucky SOB, and I wish more had his attitude.
  2. We're now all officially old - Just heard David Wright refer to others as "the young guys"...

  4. Wasn't Fred the major player in buying the team from the DeRoulet's? IIRC, Fred didn't have the needed capital, and brought the proposal to Nelson, and had to convince him to buy in.

  6. Let me get this straight - they couldn't align the bullpens correctly at first, but they made sure they had a holding cell in the stadium?

  10. I'm just going to enjoy each game as it comes. Having Gary, Keith and Ron to listen to every game certainly makes it more enjoyable...
  11. Wow - an honor long overdue, and well deserved. The Mets got this one right.
  12. I can't believe this. The man died. A man who seemed to lead his life with class and dignity to the end, something that is in short supply in this country, IMO. Turning this thread into a yankee-bashing thread is disgusting.

  18. You can count me as 1...
  19. Now we know where tmf's next trip is going to be...
  20. Mrs. DGW and the girls saw it today - the Mrs. and our oldest said they bawled their eyes out...
  21. Plus, I just irrationally hate the Marlins a lot more than I should...
  22. Why do I have this feeling that the Mets will turn into a pumpkin and start sucking again soon after Bobby V. is off the market?
