  1. I have to go with edgy here - I thought the Hulk show was full of awesome. What didn't you like about it, BG?
  2. I'm thinking Bobby V ends up in either Seattle or Flushing...
  3. Judging by the voting, Rogers hasn't shown up yet...
  4. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Anyone else remember these books? for a while, I had all of those...
  5. It still beats no Mets baseball, which we will get in 11 days...
  6. Kong76 wrote: If Torre is the Mets manager next year I may very well renounce them. I thought I was the only one thinking this way...
  7. metirish wrote: I'd like him to haul Charlie Samuels rather large arse to a meeting and explain how he would like to see the Mets wear the blue caps more with the uni. I believe that if I was handed the Mets, my first meeting would be with Charlie Samuels, telling him that if I see a stitch of black being worn, he's fired.
  8. Maybe this has something to do with it:
  9. Gotta love a guy whose nickname was 5-0-2-0
  10. RealityChuck wrote: The same thing I ask everyone: 1. What is your name? 2. What is your quest? 3. What is your favorite color? I just love this... And the photographer couldn't to tell Sal to stop texting for a minute?
  11. Benjamin Grimm wrote: I'm trying not to read too much into this, but it's surprising how utterly lame it looks. I have the same reaction seeing that. To be honest, I thought the idea of an Iron Man movie was lame, then I saw the trailer with Robert Downey, Jr., and thought, "wow".
  12. bmfc1 wrote: we anticipate he will be able to resume throwing in the spring. Why do I not believe this at all?
  13. Edgy DC wrote: I don't know how we get from suspicion to "Of course they are." Ok - full disclosure time (as much as I can). My company's CEO doesn't know Jeffrey directly, but they have many of the same business contacts. Basically, he's a mean-spirited little shit who is not exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer.
  14. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: If I weren't such a pajama-wearing naive pollyanna fan, I'd suspect the Mets themselves of whispering this story into Lupica's ear. Of course they are. I can see Jeffrey still being pissed over Beltran's surgery in January, thinking that he basically gave up this season in order to be 100% next season for his contract run.
  15. Fman99 wrote: Jeez, does a Bobby V return give me a hard-on. Ditto - NTTAWWT
  16. I've made it a habit to try to avoid the comments section after most articles like that - they just make me too damned angry. Beltran certainly gets a pass here, because he's working on something that will benefit thousands of kids from his home. Castillo and Perez I already have no use for, so getting angry with them over this is just piling on. This is as much of a non-story as the one about no Yankees showing for Bob Shepard's funeral...
  17. I miss the agita I used to get when I saw him come in from the bullpen. Like Dickshot said - F him.
  18. The blame for this game doesn't go to Jerry, or the bullpen, or even the non-existent offence. No, the blame for this stinker sits squarely on the shoulders of the thread originator for the subject line used. All sorts of bad karma were created because of it, like the mets needed any help in that regard.
  19. Neither is the fact that Bobby Murcer couldn't hit a homer at Shea...
  20. Actually, I don't think the phrase is inadequate at all. I said that Frenchy "got it" referring to his demeanor on the field. He "got" that he was a lucky SOB to make the living he did playing baseball, and his smile showed that.
  21. batmagadanleadoff wrote: I know. This conversation reminds me of the scene where the Sundance Kid is worried about jumping hundreds of feet into shallow waters mostly because he can't swim. Are you saying that watching the Mets will probably kill us any way?
