Whatever minor offensive limitations on keep me out of the Sotosphere when it comes to Metly valuable, I make up for on defense. For I am Francisco Lindor, and I play a high-value position, I play it well, and I play it day in and day out. Coming off three straight 30-homer years, and four straight years with a bWAR of 5.4 or more, I am a good person to have around. I have 10-and-five rights, a thousand-watt smile and fiddle-playin' wife that opposes the ICE regime. You can't do better than that, but I am coming off surgery, and that could have short-term and longer term implications. I just don't know. Do you? The Mets, who are a good bet to win this one, have gotten one back on an RBI double by Mike Tauchman. Bo Bichette, sadly, grounded into one of those unnecessary double-plays to end the rally.

We're seeing a pretty credible Mets lineup getting one-hit and losing to the Cardinals 2-0 through five. Both runs were given up by Kodai Senga, getting the start.

The projecting system I am referencing (checking ... it is ZIPs) has him last among expected Mets with a -14.3 defensive score. I confess I don't know what that means, apart from the understanding that lower is worse. On a per-162-game basis, only relatively fringe (and absolutely fringe) Mets figures fare worse. Juan Soto — -15.2 Corey Collins — -16.4 (expected to open in Binghamton) Jose Rojas — -17.0 (expected to open in Syracuse) Nick Roselli — -20.6(!) (expected to open in Brooklyn)

It has a lot to offer, although the site template may be more programmed to work with a rectangle than a circle. The tagline is kind of cliched but works nicely in the context. I would suggest that the arrow on the rightward sign should be pointing to the left, where the exit is relative to the sign. And mebbe the highway sign should read "G.C.M." Also, unlike the great alternative Zvon logos, which were for private use, this is going to be representing a public (potentially munny-making) site, so we would probably not be legally allowed to use the official Mets' interlocking NY insignia.

I'm a guy who is pretty much the consensus best bat in the league. That doesn't mean I win the MVP every year, partially because some other jerk pitches as well as he hits, and he jumped from the AL to the NL the same year I did, but still, I'm the guy. None of that makes me a sure thing, because baseball is baseball. I went and added some impressive baserunning value to my game in 2025, but I also scraped away whatever modest passing defensive performance I brought. I pledged to improve that part of my game, but the ability just may not be there, and anyhow, I've been consigned to left, where the Timmy Lupuses (Lupi?) of the world play. But I'm good, I'm healthy, I'm consistent, and I have the patience to take a million walks if they don't throw to me. So while nothing is a sure thing, I'm as close to it as there is in baseball in 2026. Still, there is ambiguity — good vs. great vs. terrific can make a lot of difference. A 2-0 loss. They out-hit the Marlins 6-3, but keep your eye on the walk column, which I suspect the greater predictor of who is going to come out on top. The Marlins out-walked the Mets, 5-1, and came out on top.

I don't care if you are right or wrong. The condescending tone ought to stop, though. Even as a gimmick, it makes for tough reading.
