    Vientos and McLean each have an error, which proves this official scorer will reward a fielder with an error if he tries hard enough. As often comes to pass, the Mets' better reliever are all well rested, but I would have them ride McLean as far as he will take them.

    It was more meaningful live. With respect to the supporting role played by Lindor, and the status he has rightfully earned, this was butt-fumble level historic.

    This also explodes the notion that we shouldn't teach the history of race relations in this country because white kids might feel bad. Here we have a guy from Tulsa, site of one of worst and most notorious and shocking racial incidents in this country's history, in which almost 40 square blocks of his city were leveled, which took place barely 100 years ago, and he's out here saying he didn't know that there was a racial connotation to the garbage coming out of his mouth?

    Vientos has been swinging for that homer for a week. I'm surprised he's still getting fastballs. But hey, all else being equal, if Tayor catches that ball, we're in a tie game. Acknowledging that all else being equal is the long shot that it is.
