    Rangers TCB against the Padres. Jacob deGrom goes home with his 102nd career victory despite giving up six earnies in six innings. Two doubles for Nimmo. Mets spend their night off gaining half games on the Reds, Pirates, Nats, Pads, Cards, and Brews.

    Rays helping us out, up on the Nats, 5-2 in the ninth.👍 Yankees totally helping us out, up 4-0 on the Reds in the eighth.👍 Rockies are being the best they can be, leading the Pirates, 2-0 in the fourth👍 Royals also serving us nicely, beating the Cardinals, 4-2 in the fourth.👍 On the other hand ... Brewers giving no help, losing to the Braves, 3-1 in the eighth.👎 Giants are a disappointment, trailing the Marlins, 4-3 in the seventh.👎 Cubs smacked the hell out of the Blue Jays, 16-2, which is a final. What the hell, Toronto?👎 Not yet in the column of good news or bad news ... Rangers are tied with the Padres, 6-6 in the fourth. LET'S GO, BRANDON!!🤔

    Ideally, Bichette turns his hot streak into a torrid second half, upping his value for a long-term deal, exercises his escape clause, gets passionately pursued by the Phils again, spurns them at the last second again, signs with the Braves for eight years, and plays rancidly for the duration of that contract. That's the best scenario, right?

    Conflict with a World Cup match. Major cities should be able to handle two big events at once (Madrid just had Pope Leo and Bad Bunny), but Philadelphia built a whole bunch of their sports facilities in a single complex, and so a baseball game and a World Cup match would put more tax on the mass-transit system and highway exit ramps than they were designed to handle.

    Small increments are the only ones you are going to see at this juncture.

    Hard to accept that it's two days until the next game, but hey, rest that bullpen.

    Cincinnati Freds also idle, which gains them a half-game on that tasty 12th place slot. Anything can happen if they can just join that pack. You certainly can't expect San Diego to hold on to that last spot.

    Crawford did a heck of a job going down to get that changeup and depositing it in short center. A stealth key play was the pinch-hit walk from Vientos after falling behind. It's good to see him laying off pitches away.

    CarBen now has an OPS over .700. that's pretty impressive considering it was .504 on May 1.
