It probably could be an error, but (a) they were coming home no matter what even though Semien looked like he would score no matter what, and (b) where they were positioned, they would have certainly been in a position to get Benge at first. So while it's not the textbook fielder's choice, I'm not sure what would have been the more accurate scoring. It wasn't a hit. I guess it could be ruled an error on Schumann, but he he wasn't getting Semien, and it's not his fault that Volpe or Chisholm or whoever ran into him. I mean, he was trying to come home, and just got his senses knocked out of him by a full-on body check.

For what it's worth, the replay suggests Semien was gonna be in there either way. I honestly don't know what kind of wheels Brujan has. Stole a lot of bases in the low minors though.

It was a dang sloppy series for both teams. I kind of thought that that jive-ass defense by the Yankees at the end (a) wasn't legal anymore, and (b) kind of was beneath them. You're the Yankees, man. Leave the gimmicks to the Pirates and Royals.

Ewing: 1-for-1, three walks, and a sacrifice. PotG is likely Taylor for the biggest swing of the season, but stealth points have to go Ewing.

Semien has been far better offensively in May. That far better has been sort of league average (probably a .700 or so May OPS after two hits today). But i imagine he's going to be continually run out there at least until guys start coming back. Bichette should be hitting in the back part of the lineup.
