  1. That Taylor substitution paying the wrong kind of dividends.
  2. It's probably not a thing, but I think the Mets are 1-132 when the word "condom" appears in the thread title.
  3. If you are going to cut off that throw, you kind of have to go get it and get that trailing runner.
  4. That strategy blows up on me, though.
  5. I was thinking they should walk Goldschmidt and pitch to Volpe, but he ends up plunked anyhow.
  6. Mets looking to put Manaea in his biggest spot of the season.
  7. Tyrone Taylor batting for MJ Melendez here really suggests they've lost faith in Austin Slater.
  8. Leiper seemingly had him breaking coming into the base rather than making a hard turn.
  9. It would be really cool to see MJ behind the plate on a Sunday afternoon like this. He's presumably going to lose playing time if and when Polanco gets back, and neither of their other catchers have shown replacement-level bats.
  10. Baty probably should be home.
  11. Hey, Elmer Flick is in the Hall of Fame. And Elmer Fudd had a big-league gun too.
  12. Bichette up with a runner in scoring position and two out. Like a blank check.
  13. Keith just called him Chazz Jism.
  14. Bichette almost has to start hitting. Currently at something like 2-for-his-last-34, he could improve on that purely by accident. Whether he will start hitting enough is very much another matter. Bill Doran was once in the deepest chasm of all slumps. When asked about it, he said he wasn't in a slump at all — not anymore — because the word "slump" was no longer in vogue and other baseball players who weren't hitting were said to be "in a Billy Doran." Bo Bichette is in a Billy Doran.
  15. Luke Weaver — Player of the Game. And a damn good All-Star candidate too.
  16. Ex-Yankee Devin Williams is looking to add to the column.
  17. Ex-Yankee Austin Slater walking and scoring a run is the cherry on top.
  18. Weaver could be playing first when he's not pitching. What a gorgeous double-play.
  19. Terrific wheels on Benge continue to surprise me.
  20. Not what one would describe as a "clean inning."
