The Marlins got beat pretty soundly by The Braves tonight, and do you know what that means? SOLE POSSESSION OF 12TH PLACE! And you know what else that means? FOURTH PLACE IN THE DIVISION!! Apart from all that, the Mets lead the league in Morabitos. The only limit on this team is the end of horizon.

Luis Torrens may be hot, relatively, but he's still a guy I pinch-hit for in the ninth there. Taylor, Brujan, or Morabito all force Washington to bring the infield in, and Taylor suddenly suddenly has hero fluids running through his bloodstream. Speaking of Taylor, Brujan, and Morabito, notice how Mendez isn't replacing Soto for late-and-close defense these days.

I was hoping they'd stick with Brazzy, at least until the lineup flipped and Wood came up. I can't argue with Raley's results, but I kind of want him still in the game to face Abrams.

Hey, I'm just saying it's tough. Advocating for more runs more than more Peterson. Keith Radd just described Ewing getting thrown out by a throw to the "second-base side of the bag." The bag was second base.

Nope, no opener. I assume that's in part because the Nats have several lefties that play every day, so there is no upside of knocking platoonists out of the lineup. Also, speaking of platoonists, it looks like the Mets aren't going to be using 'Bito against righties for the time being. I'm sure someone did, but in both cases, explicit permission from Mays was solicited and received.

I would suggest that it was less than a fiasco, but certainly a blunder. I think it's important that the Carter and Mays cases be held as distinct from one another.
