Kingsport won a WILD one this evening over Greeneville, coming out on top of a see-saw battle 13-12, as third baseman Yoel Romero knocked a walkoff shot in the ninth. 2018 first-round pick Jarred Kelenic went 2-for-4 with a walk, homerun, and four RBI in his Appalachian League debut, playing centerfield and batting fifth.

2009 must be what I was thinking of. Just looking at the 40-man, we still have possible 2018 debuts of Jamie Callahan, Gavin Cecchini, Marcos Molina, T.J. Rivera, and David Wright coming.

Looks like a permanent dome.

That's not a bad idea. I'll get creative right to work on it.

Didn't they come real close or possibly tie 1967 in a recent season? There were 52 last year, so maybe I'm thinking of that one.

Hopefully, their extended families sit next to each other.

Or a late September game.

Our Gagnon is 28 and from Cali. Hopefully not much of an asshole. You can get a lot of 86 Drew Gagnon rookie cards here! They're only going to go up in value after tonight's start!! [fimg=350]https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/QokAAOSwlY1ZJjKD/s-l1600.jpg[/fimg]

Jason Vargas was clearly beyond the simple and lowly skills of the New York/Penn League, throwing six shutout innings for The Cyclones against The Staten Island Yankees, giving up a lone single while walking none and striking out nine. The Clones offense and pen were happy to help prepare him for his return to the Mets by giving him just a 1-0 lead to depart with and then blowing it in the bullpen, losing 2-1. It was something of a reverse of the previous day, a 2-1 victory over the Yankees also featuring another encouraging start by a rehabbing Mets pitcher, with Noah Syndergaard going five innings, giving up one run on two hits, walking one, and striking out seven.

José Lobatón WUZ ROBBED!

Total Little Asshole sounds like a hot new NETFLIX series.

Zach Borenstein will be the Las Vegas 51s' sole representative in the AAA All-Star Game, scheduled for tomorrow night in Columbus. Zach, who is the lone 51 batsman to be with the team all season, neither being sent up nor sent down, being neither injured nor deactivated, leads the team in most offensive counting categories, including hits (79), homers (19), and RBI (61). He has also struck out 119 times. A torrid pace. Like several players with Mets associations (Ty Kelly, Cody Decker, Ike Davis, Tyler Herron, Zach Thornton, Josh Zeid), Borenstein also represented Israel in the 2017 World Baseball Classic. Had been mostly relieving the last few years, but has been starting for Las Vegas. I hope for the best, but frankly don't get it. Lugo in the pen is a luxury the team can't come close to affording.

That's so much better, it's stupid. Gotta allow the kids a little more initiative too. And an opportunity to be on to the plan before everybody else, but nobody listens to kids.

The previews were all for animated sequelz: Wreck-It Ralph II, How to Raise Your Dragon II, The Lego Movie II. Using a rehash to promote a pile of rehashes was gloomily foreboding. The standard Pixar animated short feature was ambitious and meaningful and ... disturbing as heck. I'm glad I didn't see it when I was under eight. The film had the outstanding design you're looking for, great music (possibly better than the first), but centerfield is dead on. My wife was playing with her phone through the middle, and you're a real dullard if the big villain reveal surprised you at all. No script, no movie. And it's pretty disappointing to have to say that about a Brad Bird-directed Pixar flick. They used to put years into story development before they started filming. Considering their recent output, John Lasseter's transfer to the parent company, and his subsequent downfall, there's little doubt (in my mind, anyhow) we've seen peak Pixar.

With their two best players (Pete Alonso and Jeff McNeil) ineligible following their promotions to Las Vegas, the Binghamton Rumble Ponies still have an ample delegation to dispatch to tomorrow night's Eastern League All-Star Game in Trenton's Arm & Hammer Park. Representing the third-place Ponies will be: SP Nabil Crismatt, 8-5, 3.58 ERA, 34 BB, 94 SO in 93 innings. RP Daniel Zamora, 1-1, 1 S, 3.72, 12 BB, 50 SO in 36 1/3 innings. C Patrick Mazeika .212 / .311 / .349 // .660 with 6 HR and 31 RBI in 55 games. SS Levi Michael, .284 / .370 / .453 // .823 with 9 HR and 26 RBI in 78 games. LF Tim Tebow, .270 / .337 / .390 // .727 with 5 HR and 33 RBI in 76 games. Relief has been something of a strength for the team, and Zamora has been maybe the team's fourth best bullpenner, so that's something of a head-scratcher. But Joshua Torres (7-0, 1.20 ERA) really got burned in his callup to Las Vegas last week just as the All-Star roster was being announced. I guess he can deal. Mazeika's selection looks like a puzzler too, but he gets something of a Bob Boone/John Stearns nod for bringing the D even in a weak offensive season. Anchoring the Eastern Division Team will be all three of New Hampshire's big-name offspring: Bo Bichette, Cavan Biggio, and Vladimir Guerrero, Jr. The Toronto Blue Jays reportedly paid a record in stud fees to produce that middle of the order for their AA lineup.

That's a very old-timey shot.

Lookit that! Head surgically removed from ass! He's the tying run and he just banged a ball off his knee. Meso better club one.

Come on, Foncorto! Stave off death!

His head just hasn't seemed to be in the game for more than a handful of appearances all season. I'm also distressed that the sponsor whose ad runs all the time on MLB.com is a cancer drug. Not even a drug to beat cancer, but seemingly just to delay death. Really says something about the future of baseball that advertisers are using it to market to the dying.

What a futile backhand by Reyes.

My favorite is Bryce Montes de Oca. I may have to adopt that big kid.
