There is certainly a way to improve how that $42 million is spent. Jared Young has outplayed Bo Bichette this season. Luis Torrens and AJ Ewing have as well. All together, they cost the team less that $5 million and a surfeit of being smart.
Bo Bichette can and certainly should improve over 2026. But also, the same money, more wisely invested, can certainly make the team better.
I don't think it would be healthy to lock themselves into a single yes/no decision tree, especially since the ball is very much in his hands.
