  1. Don't bunt him over JMcN, knock him in!! AB of the game by Davis
  2. As soon as our guys go 0-2 on a batter I start to get nervous. oe: although Gagnon finally is able to close it out
  3. I'm pretty indifferent to that (Votto) walk ... depending on future results of course.
  4. Hey it could be worse, at least Votto isn't coming up ... oh wait.

  7. Hey McNeil, find out where the ball is first and THEN ask for time.

  9. This thread is acting as if only since the season started did we discover that Wilson Ramos is slow.
  10. Edgy MD wrote: Frayed Knot wrote: You know what would stop these silly hair-splitting challenges: you get it wrong and you lose your challenge for the next game That might be over-engineering. Only allow challenges to be made on the field and immediately, give the umps Bluetooth headsets, and the world is much more in alignment. Sure. But that play was a virtual and obvious tie at best, so the idea that the game gets stopped, for how ever long it gets stopped, so that the umps can decide a coin flip isn't within a Pete Alonso HR of what the rule was intended to "correct". If only this kind of silliness could have been foreseen prior to employing the rule!

The 6' 5" lefty is originally from the Vegas area but then played both baseball & hoops at St Johns (which Gary is sure to mention each and every time he even warms up) Mets have faced him four times: a start in 2017 where we beat him up pretty good [4 runs, 5 hits over 5 IP], then three relief outings last year which added up to 2.1 scoreless on 2 hits and 3 BBs
  13. Maybe we can un-trade Plawecki

  15. Will a triple from Conforto be enough to score Ramos from 2nd?
  16. https://nypost.com/2019/04/28/man-shouting-avengers-endgame-spoilers-gets-beatdown-from-furious-fans/Spoiler-blabberer gets pummeled by movie going crowd.
  17. I bet robo-ump would have called that 3-0 pitch to Alonso a ball. One thing that analysis has shown is that 3-0 pitches get called strikes more often than they should while borderline 0-2 pitches are more frequently tallied as balls.
  18. Is the swing/no-swing thing even reviewable? I hated to see Dom ph'd-for, especially seeing as how they were already a man down, but it was the right move and JD cashed it in. He's looking to be this season's Scott Hairston, the guy put on this planet to punish LHPs
  19. Edgy MD wrote: Raise your hand if you envisioned Matz bailing out the Mets with a dominant start in game three of a series after deGrom and Syndergaard both spit the bit in the first two games. And he's on a low pitch count (sub-80 thru six) Not sure if we've had one of those all season to date.
  20. McNeil going after pop-ups like he's got a put-out clause in his contract.
  21. I think they made the right call on that 'turn or no-turn' call at 1st base, but it reminds me that that's one of the most mis-called and widely-interpreted calls in softball games. Some umps would go as far as inferring 'intent' if a runner merely turned his body counter-clockwise before going back to the bag, even if he was directly on the foul line while doing so.
  22. How many more of those spinning squibs is Cain going to hit this weekend? Fortunately we finally got a break on this one. He's had like 6 hits this series and I don't think he's hit a ball hard yet.
  23. This inning is just a perfect microcosm of this game: - NYM pitcher gets ahead but can't put him away and instead gives him a free pass - Brewer bat, in this case Cain for the third time tonight, hits a piece 'o shit that finds a hole - Met fielder does something stupid - more free advances on the bases
