  1. -- 2K RBI for Albert Pujols Only Hank Aaron (2,297), Bae Ruth (2,214), Alex Rodriguez (2,086), and Cap Anson (2,075) remain ahead of him, and Ruth's and Anson's are consider 'unofficial' by some as a portion of their RBIs were assigned retroactively for those years where it wasn't considered an official statistic. -- So how'd ya like to be Cincy starter Tyler Mahle? In his last two starts he's tossed 5 and 6 innings, and allowed just one run in each on a total of 7 hits/15 K/1 BB -- but he wound up on the short end of both matchups. Two starts ago he was opposed by Syndergaard's 'Little League' 1-0 game, and then on Tuesday Oakland's Mike Fiers threw a no-hitter vs the Reds with Mahle as the opposing pitcher. It was Fiers second career no-hitter. Also his second career complete game. -- Texas's Joey Gallo hit his 100th career HR on Wednesday. He has 93 career singles. Now in his 5th ML season (2 full seasons to date), 63% of his 249 ML hits have gone for XBs That's crazy!!

  3. =HahnSolo post_id=9536 time=1557354418 user_id=63] Don't want to second guess but no Ramos there?
  4. Another one of those, runs early then Operation Shut-Down, games
  5. Edgy MD wrote: Conforto may not have seen a strike that whole at-bat. And now Nimmo walks on Ball Five
  6. Called strike three at Conforto's shins leaves the Mets down to their last out.
  7. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: Burly Bashlor is ... a stiff sinewy meatball factory dumbass I'd like to see that with a cartoon on the back of his baseball card. That would be a fun cottage industry, mock cards where you'd create cartoons to go along with a player's 'fun fact' but not necessarily a positive fact. Manny Machado's in-season hobbies include lazy play and dirty slides' All kinds of options for the cartoon on that one.
  8. Annnnd ... Six straight pitches later, the inning is over.
  9. A tricky and evasive slide, combined with a decidedly minimum effort tag by Machado, gives Conforto a one-out stolen base w/Nimmo at bat. ... and Nimmo doubles off the wall/glove in CF on the 12th pitch of the AB, but Conforto, holding up to possibly tag, can only get to 3rd That'll end [CROSSOUT]Brent Strom's[/CROSSOUT] Matt Strahm's day
  10. Well that was an interesting turn at bat - w/runner on 1st, pitcher Strahm bunts right near the plate - Nido picks up the ball and throws to 2nd - throw is short, Rosario fields the hop but comes off the base while doing so - relay to 1st is late, everyone safe - but the Mets claim that Strahm kicked the ball after bunting - umps agree but say it was in foul territory and so was merely a strike, everyone back to where they were - Strahm bunts through Strike three and Nido throws behind runner (Margot) and picks him off to end the inning with an odd Strike-out/Throw-out DP
  11. That it's "at worst a tie" Is the Reason you don't overturn it Gary!!
  12. -- Anthony Swarzak, handling the closing chores tonight for the Mariners following the Edwin Diaz trade, serves up a one-out/two-run/9th inning/Game-tying HR to something named Gio Urshela for the Yanx (and he's not out of the inning yet)
  13. Not that I'm unhappy with this sudden spate of offense, but with 2 doubles + 3 singles + plus a HBP in only two innings, we should have more than two runs.
  14. Ordinarily you'd look at a lineup featuring Nimmo & Frazier 7-8 and go, 'Wow, that must be a really good 1-thru-6'
  15. So this -- Alonso vs Stamen -- is pretty much our chance tonight, huh?
  16. Well if you're going to try and stay up through a west coast start, having them 1/2 way through the game in under an hour is a nice start.
  17. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: Paddack already looking like he's going to throw a no hitter Or somebody might. How many no-hitter/no-decisions have there been?
  18. I got a good idea: Until further notice, lay off the high fastball
  19. Should I start an IGT too? I feel like I'd be the only one if I don't.
  20. So this Paddack guy's haircut: Intentional, or the result of some sort of industrial accident?
  21. Cleveland is down 10-0 to the Mariners in the 9th inning ... and Kevin Plawecki is on the mound KP, btw, 6 for 30 on the season although 4 of the 6 hits went for XB (3 2Bs, 1 HR) 200/333/400 So pretty much like last season in Queens
  22. That's at least the second (un)lucky infield deflection that we've gotten burned on in this series.
  23. There's gotta be an injury, or suspicion of one, with Vargas Minus the Yelich HR (which hasn't landed yet) he was fine and it'd be only 1 or 2 runs allowed but for Broxton misjudging a catchable liner.
  24. Bunting ... with a runner on 2nd in front of the backup catcher then the pitcher?!?!?! Really Juan? Fortunately Nido picks him up as I type, but Jeez!
