  1. I'd like to personally thank the SF Giants for erasing two baserunners in front of Bonds and allowing us to pitch to him leading off the inning.
  2. Dave Roberts: lead-off BB, then caught stealing. So I guess that proves that if LoDuca had been catching for the Yanx in '04 the Sawx would still be looking for their first WS title since WWI

  4. Glavine - 4.0 Reyes - 1.8 Feliciano - 0.7 Wagner - 0.7 Beltran - 0.5 Wright - 1.3 LoDuca - 1.0
  5. I'm a boy, I'm a boy But my ma won't admit it I'm a boy, I'm a boy But if I say I am I get it
  6. The song came on the radio while I was trolling in the 'Pool' the other day and I changed my sig line on the spot. Most of my sig lines come about in that manner.
  7. Wagner in the 9th: Durham - K Molina - FO 9 Feliz - K Thank you and please arrive home safely
  8. Big inning for Pedro: K, FO, K-looking (Barry) I'm already icing down a few cans of suds for him.
  9. Feliciano starts the 8th in anticipation of Barry Ks Vizquel for the 1st out. * I've become Jim McAndrew ... I must be in a Lost Nation
  10. The Gints could def have more runs tonight. We SHOULD have more runs tonight. I missed the answer to the trivia contest: 100 games played against the Mets for two different teams? Anyone hear the answers?
  11. That LF guy was always such a fucking troublemaker.
  12. If you're not familiar with Matt Cain yet you oughta be. Just 22 y/o with just over one full season under his belt, he's given up just 201 hits in 275 innings pitched in his career-to-date. Still walks a lot as many young pitchers do - but barely a baserunner per inning over 6 starts this season. '07: 6 starts, 38 IP, 20 Hits, 21 BBs, 25 Ks, 3.80 ERA, 1.09 WHiP
  13. I was kind of going for: LEEN-OM-IT-OR
  14. Look around LA for a guy named *Ambler ... I bet he knows where to get them. * Inside joke
  15. The sad part in all this is Clemens trying to hide the part about allowing him to come and go as he pleases even though both Cashman and the agents openly admit that the lack of such a clause was absolutely a deal-breaker. Both sides have said publically that the Yanx refusal to grant him one last year was a big reason he spent last season in Houston and that the Yanx reversed their previously held policy on this months before the season started. Then, during the various chats he had in the NYY booths following his 7th inning stretch-of-the-truth announcement, not one of the supposed media pros (Kay, Sterling, Waldman) even thought to ask him about that clause, instead leaving it up to that veteren of years of hard-bitten jounalism; Al Leiter. Roger side-stepped Leiter's question and then later at the post-game press conference insisted that he DIDN'T KNOW whether he had the ability to travel whenever he wanted, adding that; "I haven't read the contract"
  16. Reyes - 1.0 Wright - 0.5 Gotay - 0.5 Heilman - 0.5 Sele - 0.5
  17. A tracking of Lino's ERA: Beginning of season: 6 Earned Runs, 0 Innings pitched: ERA = Infinite [u:488c8f3037]First appearance[/u:488c8f3037] - Records one out; ERA = 162.00 - Records 2nd out; ERA = 81.00 - Removed from game [u:488c8f3037]Second Appearance[/u:488c8f3037] - Gives up 3R HR (2 runners inherited); ERA = 94.50 - Records an out; ERA = 63.00 - Removed from Game 7 Earned Runs, 1.0 Innings Pitched
  18. Edgy DC wrote: Steve Kline is still playing baseball? Yes and he's apparently still an ass. ]Batter this guy. Done.
  19. I suspect sending him to Single-A Tampa has more to do with the fact that they've got their favored instructors there than it does with any kind of "punishment".
  20. We think Edgy was making reference to the ad and not to his personal take on Hafner's attractiveness (although ya never know)
  21. Of course this one will be on a Tuesday afternoon in June and draw about 9 viewers. They're probably giving it to ESPN for free and I suspect this is all a dry run for when future MLB-TV channel carries it in 2009 or whenever. The good part for the few who do watch it is that they'll do 50 rounds in less than the time it takes the NFL to do their 7.
  22. - Joe Torre is sitting out tonight with a one-game suspension (automatic) and reliever Scott Proctor was hit with a 4-gamer (he's appealing his) as a result of a mini-beanball war that got swept under the rug due to the second coming of the Lord act during Sunday's game. Basically, Josh Phelps steamrolled Seattle catcher Jojima even though Jojima had given him plenty of plate to slide into. So Phelps promptly got plunked in his next AB. Then came the automatic warnings, then came the ball Proctor sailed behind Mariner SS Betancourt's head the following inning which led to a lot of jawing and the automatic ejections. - Also (off)Kei Igawa is now plying his trade in the minor leagues. Not to worry, it's not like they spent $46mil (between posting fee and 5-year salary) on him or anything.
  23. ]because apparently from what I read and hear a whole lot of Americans were pissed that Aaron broke... No, not a lot. A handful of racists plus some Yanqui fans who get upset whenever one of their records goes out the window - but, by far, they were not the majority. There are also always some fans (particularly in baseball) who think that everything was better back in the good old days and that a modern player breaking anything must mean it's tainted. Rose breaking Cobb's hit record ran into some of that.
