  1. 4 - 1 KCR, heading for bottom 9 Yanx have just three hits but have had multiple chances thx to about 75 walks. Been a bullpen game for both sides since about the 4th.
  2. =G-Fafif post_id=174649 time=1728347336 user_id=55] Keith Hernandez to throw ceremonial first pitch to John Franco.
  3. =Gwreck post_id=174654 time=1728349182 user_id=56] Houston played division series games in primetime last year (against Minnesota).
  4. That changed a while back. Now obviously you get much more out of it the longer you hang around but under current rules nobody gets nothing. cross-posted
  5. =G-Fafif post_id=174627 time=1728339805 user_id=55] After the longest road trip in human history ...
  6. One day in MLB qualifies you for the pension plan.
  7. Despite being a top contender for most of a decade now, Houston gets dumped into the least desirable time slots every year, including this one. Yeah, playing Boston instread of KC might help (although the Sox are currently devoid of star power) but I doubt enough to push the Yanx to an earlier slot. Mike Francesa used to say that the worst big cities for pro sports were (in no particular order) Atlanta, Miami, and Houston. And while big Mike was wrong about a lot of things (not always right but never in doubt) I don't think he was here. And even if that's not a demonstrable fact if that's the perception among media types the perception becomes a reality, at least their reality. Anyway, given the chance, networks are going to feature the Yanquis every time for the same reason, as I joked above, that they're going to pick the Cowboys.
  8. As mentioned, the two networks split the games by league [this year it's TBS for AL, FOX/FS1 for NL] and then they decide how to schedule them. It always makes the most sense to put the west coast games in the later slot although they have the leeway to NOT do it that way if they think it'll get them better tatings flipped. On the NL side FOX is only too happy to follow the logical path and put the Dodgers with the bonus of Ohtani in the prime time slot. And when one series is East vs East and the other W-v-W it's a no-brainer. On the AL/TBS side there are no ALW teams still alive but if it were, say, Seattle vs either CLE or DET then guess when Mariner fans would see their games? That's right, at 1:30 local time (home and away) so the prime slot can be filled with pinstripes.
  9. Maybe Kamala will weigh in on this. She sure seems to know what the price of things should be.
  10. 3 - 1 Sandy Eggo end of 3rd
  11. Now 3-0 But they were up 3-0 early in the game last night too.
  12. Bob Alpacadaca wrote: Who goes out there for the ninth? Sticking w/Megilla. I agree.
  13. Remember that, if we hold 'em here, the clown car X-inning rules are NOT in effect for post-season games.
  14. Phils got a quick 8th inning from Estevez, their supposed closer at the moment. Surprising that they didn't stick with him.
  15. Mets 'belt' Orion around for the second straight game.
  16. Chad ochoseis wrote: Is anyone even up in the pen? Not that I'd pull Sevy just yet. They got Butto up after the second HR
  17. Well then, that all makes this winter quite the conundrum, doesn't it?
  18. Their pitching is certainly suspect.
  19. A (non) pitchers duel is erupting in LA. Dylan Cease (SDP): 5 ER in 3 1 IP Yamamoto: 5 ER in 3 0 IP And, yes, Ohtani has a 3R HR SD, who went 8-5 v the Dodgers in ths regular season, -5 Dodgers in the 7th
  20. Yanx win 6-5 ... dammit!
  21. 3-3 in the 3rd. And the 3 LAD runs have all come via a 3R Ohtani 3R HR
  22. 6-5 Yanx, top 8th. And I had forgotten that Pa & Ma Pinstripes are together again. John Sterling, after saying upon his retirement that he'd never return to the mic, has returned to the mic and is re-paired with Suzyn to the delight of .. dozens.
