  1. There are probably a handful of active short-timers who fit that category -- Prince Fielder, for example, with 106 total and 50 in 2007 The odd part about Tatis is that he took 9 MLB seasons to get there; 1 season to get 34 HRs and the other 8 to total 67
  2. Fernando's HRs tonight were #s 100 & 101 of his career. Now this might be a tough one to find unless someone has connections to the Elias crew, but do you suppose there's anyone else with at least 100 HRs who had over 1/3 of them come in one season? Tatis = 34 in 1999
  3. I think it's been shown that just about EVERYONE on the staff CAN and HAS done worse (or at least as bad). After all, it's not like Sanchez, Smith, Schoeneweis, Feliciano, etc. haven't also blown up at critical times. I think we just expect more from Heilman and aren't getting it. I don't know what to suggest at this point.

  5. Beat up on the Friars and we'll gain ground on someone this week as the Phish and Fils are playing each other in eastern PA - Johnson vs Moyer Marlins put up 1 in top 2
  6. Up to 45 now (I think) and that's without a major trade and nearly 1/3 of the season to go.
  7. Gerut - CF Taguchi - 2B B. Giles - RF Gonzalez - 1B Kouzmanoff - 3B Headley - LF (recent call up - good prospect) Hundley - C (say what?) L. Rodriguez - SS Young - P Reyes - SS Murphy - LF Wright - 3B Delgado - 1B Beltran - CF Tatis - RF Easley - 2B Schneider - C Pelfrey - P Top 1: GO - FO (Murphy steals HR) - 1B - K ------------- Date in subject line edited by KC on 8/6
  8. This thread needs some serious updating. Knight Murphy Kunz Lugo others?
  9. ]Wrigley Field: Great park. Our seats were directly behind a pole, but whatever. Well it's Chicago, whattaya expect? The odds of having a seat and NOT being behind some guy named Kowalski or Stankowitz or something like that are real small.
  10. They tightened up those injury replacement rules over the last few years but it still is possible to get someone onto the post-season roster as long as he is on your 40-man by Aug 31. Garcia might be able to help someone this season - but mostly I think that's the carrot he's holding out in order to secure a contract for next year (and maybe beyond). Anything you get this season is a bonus.
  11. The first four guys look like photos the same guy in four different poses he got 4-for-a-buck from one of those booths. Didn't realize minor league teams were inbredding these days in an attempt to increase talent.
  12. Santana - 3.8 Sanchez - 0.3 Reyes - 1.0 Easley - 1.8 Beltran - 0.8 Delgado - 0.8 Murphy - 0.8
  13. Perez - 1.5 Kunz - 0.3 Reyes - 1.0 Delgado - 1.4 Beltran - 0.8
  14. Skip, aka Harry II, son of Harry I, father of Harry III (Chip) I was never one of those Met fans had contempt for Skip and the whole TBS crew. Yeah, their version of hemerism: referring to the Braves as "we"; saying things like, "let's get a run" made them sound hokier than they probably realized and would never fly in NYC, but I never got the opinion that they were slanting the facts during a game. They weren't telling me that mediocre plays by Braves were great plays, or that black was white, or the umps were all against them, or any of that nonsense. Mostly I think Met fans didn't like them because the Braves were winning too often for their tastes and the announcers are frequently the first ones fans take it out on when they don't like the outcome of the game. Considering that the Braves were a laughingstock team and the saturation bombing of out-of-town games (via ESPN, Extra-innings, etc) hadn't started yet when Skip and TBS first went up on the satellite, hearing and seeing a different team with a different set of voices and accents was kind of cool back then and I got used to usually having a game there during the summer even if I only occasionally tuned in.
  15. He started playing rehab games a day or two ago - they're talking about a week until ready to return.
  16. I just want to see how many more runners we can leave all over the place. There's a contest going to see whether we can strand as many runners as the LA-Angel make errors for the day. I think we've put 13 on base so far with zippo scoring - it's quite an accomplishment really.
  17. This whole weekend has been a bad baserunning clnic.
  18. CAN SOMEBODY ON THS TEAM GET A FUCKING TWO-OUT HIT?!?!!???
  19. Can't win games when you score early then go virtually hitless for the next 7 innings plus have 3 seperate bullpen guys fuck up.
  20. OF needs to be shallow here ... little power from Erstad (looks like they are)
  21. Bourne can't hit for shit but he also can't be doubled up.
  22. JEEZ-US FUCKIN' CHISTOPHER!!! - can someone get an out here?!? Meanwhile, we've barely gotten a hit off their pen over 2 games and about 7 innings now.
  23. metirish wrote: What difference does it make if Newhan is on second or third , he scores on a single , no? There was also only one out at the time. IOW - BIG difference
  24. Martinez - 1.0 Smith - 0.4 Feliciano - 0.2 Reyes - 1.5 Delgado - 1.3 Wright - 0.8 Tatis - 0.8 Easley - 0.8 Beltran - 0.7
  25. That wasn't so sweet Loretta.
