  1. Helluva win. Have a safe flight to Charm City, boys. Get some crab cakes for dinner and then win the two games.
  2. This is outstanding. I hope that Steve takes note.

  4. For many of us, throwing from 3B to 1B would require a cut-off man. Drury did it from his knees. Fantastic play.
  5. Yeah that's pretty dicey. Fboy and I will be there both Friday and Saturday as my girls will be off camping with the scouts. We may score a couple of these. (I'm also debating a half-work day to go to a matinee solo on Wednesday, depending on work and the weather). I hope that you each get one. Please post a picture of "Pete".
  6. Did you see the sign that said that the Maximum Capacity of the dugout is 13?
  7. Jake overcomes the SS's error and the misplay by the 1B in LF. I hate that he wasted all of those pitches and had to pitch "under stress" b/c it will give Luis an excuse to take him out too soon.
  8. USA Baseball wins at Clover Park in Port St. Lucie to advance to the Tokyo Olympics. Todd Frazier took his first step toward rejoining the Mets with a big night, including a HR.
  9. Geez, Pete what happened to your batting eye? Stop trying to be a hero every at bat. Take a damn walk. Smart strategy by SD conceding a leadoff double knowing that the Mets would strand him.
  10. Is this an area code?
  11. Is this really supposed to be Pete?
  12. I'm only going on "what I read in the papers" as I didn't see most of the game but I don't understand how the call that lead to McCann and Luis' ejections wasn't one of the top 3 worst calls of the game. [bLOCKQUOTE]Another source of frustration was the strike zone of Quinn Wolcott. The strike zone is supposed to be rectangle, but Wolcott's was more akin to a tracing of an amoeba, one spastically shooting out pseudopods below the zone and across its inside boundaries, then mysteriously withdrawing them from those boundaries. 14. Another 10:10 PM start. The good news is that after tomorrow's 10:10 PM start we only have to deal with 5 more of these (August). Dom Smith gets the night off against a lefty. I guess Villar is still being "evaluated". METS: 1. Kevin Pillar ® LF 2. Francisco Lindor (S) SS 3. James McCann ® C 4. Pete Alonso ® 1B 5. Brandon Drury ® 3B 6. Billy McKinney (L) RF 7. The really sad part about this "joke" is that I've been waiting four seasons to use it. First conceived of back in 2018, y'know what keeps you from using the line on June 3rd? Having a near fatal heart attack on June 2nd, that's what! So you hold onto it until 2019 but the Mets were off that day. No worries, I'll just use it in 2020 ... until a fuckin global pandemic knocks out baseball for not just 6/3 but the entire month of June. It's a long time to hold on to an extremely mediocre reference, I know, but the longer it took the more determined I was to finally get a chance to cash it in. I admire your commitment to the bit. I heard the song two days ago on "'60s on 6" and it was almost out of my head but it's back in full force now.
  18. If Villar is out, the Mets need a 3B as JD isn't coming back for a while. I'd like to see Maz back but he's never played 3B. David Thompson is the 3B at Syracuse but they'd have to move someone off the 40-man. I guess it's Drury and Blankenhorn until Guillorme is ready.

  20. Edgy MD wrote: Watching Ahmed at short is like watching Jeter. Balls go to his left and he gets there in time to wave as it gets through. Yeah, but we learned that Stephen Vogt would pick him in a 3-on-3 game of basketball.

  22. cal sharpie wrote: You Tube baseball = unwatchable. If MLB wanted to create an alternate broadcast for kids or gamblers that would be fine. The NFL did that in the playoffs with a separate broadcast on Nickelodeon and it was great. This is an exclusive telecast and it's not for anyone: Mets fans, both AZ fans, gamblers, kids, baseball lovers, no one will love this and no casual viewer will seek it out despite it being "free". It's just a money-grab by MLB (which also angers cable and mlb.tv subscribers as you're paying to watch your team and not getting anything in return today).
  23. I hope that everyone enjoyed the question from a "YouTube Creator" to the backup catcher as to his favorite gum.
