Strike 3 to Drury was borderline. Strike 1 to McCann wasn't close.

"Tovie"? He's on a cute name basis with you (I'm just wondering)? And he stinks, even on this team as presently constituted. Not even a team in the Korean League would want him. At least Hager isn't horrible at hitting.

We need Marshmallowmilkshake to provide an update!

I'm mildly annoyed that they choose Tovar over Hager. Hager has the better bat and can play more positions. No one would have claimed Tovar.

"It's not just his first hit since 2014, it's his first homer since 2014"

GKR said that everything can work out if they tread water until everyone gets back but that's going to take a while and they might be out of it by the ASB. Of course, who are they going to pickup at this point?

Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: late June = early August My thought was "= right after the ASB".

ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There's a lefty on the mound tonight but JD Davis is staying in Syracuse to get more experience as a 1B while McCann plays 1B with zero experience. (Per someone else, McCann has no experience even getting to 1B this season.) Dom is a superior 1B but he's in LF in order to get Nido AND McCann in the lineup.

Sounds wonderful! Congrats to your daughter.

Will Cameron Maybin get a standing ovation when he makes his Citi Field debut? Find out tonight at 7:10 as the Mets return home, still in first place somehow, to play the Colorado Rockies in the first of a four-game series. I don't expect Fargas, Lee, Maybin, Tovar, Drury, et. al, to do anything. I expect Dom, Lindor, and McCann do to something and they are letting down the team.

Edgy MD wrote: I'm guessing the Mets are planning on getting three innings out of Yummy, three out of Gselly, and three out of Yennsy. Do you mean three innings or three "up-downs"?

Awesome job, Lindor. Way to step up.

I watch these games wondering what it would take to get a run or two. It would likely involve errors and walks.

"How good are we in the morning? Ask your Mother." Makes me laugh every time.

Edgy for Quality Control Coach! Sometimes I ask if the other team is happy with the decision that my manager is making. If the answer is "yes" then it's often a bad decision.

J.D. Davis is playing 1B for Syracuse tonight, not 3B or LF, I guess so w/Pete out Villar can stay at 3B and Dom can stay in LF. J.D. has 2 errors already. https://www.milb.com/gameday/ironpigs-vs-mets/2021/05/22/646306#game_state=live,game_tab=,game=646306https://www.milb.com/gameday/ironpigs-vs-mets/2021/05/22/646306#game_state=live,game_tab=,game=646306 He also blasted a HR. Can someone help me understand why JD would play 1B when Dom is a "plus" fielder at 1B and JD is new to the position? JD is better at 3B than 1B, Dom is better at 1B than LF, and Villar seems to be the same at 2d or 3d so they are doing this because playing Dom at 1B and JD at 3d would mean that Moe, Larry and Johneshwy are the OF'ers (which is awful) and/or to keep Peraza/Tovar in the lineup at 2B. Is that it?

Tovar was just planted there. Considering the next 3 hitters, do something: a hit and run, as Wayne said, or a steal... something. It wasn't like Lee or McCann were going to get a hit (so Fargas was their only hope!).

Edgy MD wrote: Bleier was rattled. Nido should have put the bat on his shoulder and made the guy throw strikes. Absolutely. I wonder why none of the ten coaches can't tell him that.

Edgy MD wrote: Lucky, lucky, lucky Mets. They are getting four out of five breaks these days. They got screwed by the home plate ump on Wednesday in ATL and last night, too.

Shut up Mattingly.

The Mets overpaid for Maybin.
