  1. 41 pitches (30 strikes) that could have been thrown tonight in Miami but whatever.
  2. Webb, the guy that hit Pillar, made his first appearance tonight for ATL, in the 10th inning, and got hit around, giving up the go-ahead run and 3 straight hits.
  3. I talked myself into McCann a little bit looking at some of the metrics, but damn, it'd be nice if the Mets hadn't cheaped out on Realmuto. Agreed b/Cohen doesn't cheap out on anything (he owns a Zamboni!). They didn't want to wait on Realmuto and McCann said "yes" right away so they decided to take the #2 FA C and use the extra $ on another FA which they didn't (unless you want to argue that Lindor was a FA to-be so they really did). The Mets could have signed someone or everyone, but I THINK that Cohen promised Manfred that he wouldn't "spend like a drunken sailor" in year one, a year when the other owners were whining about lost revenue from last season ("then why did they go after Bauer, smartypants?"... yeah, that kinda blows up what I was just saying).
  4. The ump gave them a run and they won by a run:
  5. With a runner on 3B and less than 2 out, Maz would have found a way. McCann couldn't find a way with Google Maps.
  6. Tough loss. McCann needs to sit or something, why is he still healthy when almost no one else is? I wonder if May was able to pitch if they had a lead then should he have started the 8th in lieu of Loup?
  7. Maz would have gotten the run in. Garbage, his D notwitstanding.
  8. May has pitched 2 days in a row and Diaz 3.

  10. Edgy MD wrote: If they're pinch hitting Nido now, it's sort of a no-brainer to pinch-run for McCann now. I mean, they're not a lot of need for speed when you're on third with two out, but you can score on a ball in the dirt. You're right, esp. with Maz there as another C. 10 coaches and no one thought of that?
  11. Good catch, G-Fafif. He still sucks.
  12. Edgy MD wrote: Can anybody explain the organist playing "Go Down, Moses" for Cameron Maybin? Because the organist is an attention-seeking asshole? Because of the line "you'll possess fair Canaan's land" (close to Cameron)?
  13. When JD returns (Friday?), Villar to 2B... right?
  14. Jake starts on Friday... in PSL. Taijuan to the IL (of course) Why isn't Nido starting? Note that Pete has the day off. Welcome Maybin!
  15. It's also shown on mlb.tv and, as with any Liberty Mutual ad, immediately causes me to smash the mute button.
  16. The Mets go for a three-game sweep against the Atlanta Braves. Game time is 7:20. The Mets will send David Peterson (LHP) against Charlie Morton (RHP). Morton was a big FA signing but has been a disappointment so far with a 5.08 ERA. https://www.mlb.com/gameday/mets-vs-braves/2021/05/19/634066#game_state=preview,game_tab=,game=634066https://www.mlb.com/gameday/mets-vs-braves/2021/05/19/634066#game_state=preview,game_tab=,game=634066 https://www.espn.com/mlb/preview?gameId=401227695https://www.espn.com/mlb/preview?gameId=401227695 Weather: https://www.rotowire.com/baseball/weather.phphttps://www.rotowire.com/baseball/weather.php Odds: ATL-160 NYM +175, O/U: 7.5, LINE: Braves -1.5 Game Notes: Mets: https://img.mlbstatic.com/mlb-images/image/upload/mlb/fwesmlbiaiqqhw04lke0.pdfhttps://img.mlbstatic.com/mlb-images/image/upload/mlb/fwesmlbiaiqqhw04lke0.pdf Braves: https://img.mlbstatic.com/mlb-images/image/upload/mlb/ovfqtnwvm129dgckvzjf.pdfhttps://img.mlbstatic.com/mlb-images/image/upload/mlb/ovfqtnwvm129dgckvzjf.pdf Lineups: METS: 1. 17. Great win! And only 2:36!!!
  18. Maybin for Lee, I guess. That was a wonderful catch but Lee looks overmatched.
  19. Is Truist Park's OF very bouncy or are the fences short? That's 2 ground-rule doubles.
  20. Edgy MD wrote: Tomás Nido gets "Space Oddity." Keep playing it! Nice decision by Luis to play the hot-hand and sit the FA.
  21. =bmfc1 post_id=64669 time=1621388373 user_id=73] Time for Pete to step up and blast one.
  22. "Call me Maybin." That's funny.
  23. Time for Pete to step up and blast one.
  24. They don't have a 2d left-handed reliever for Freeman... but couldn't use him anyway because of the 3-batter rule.
