Some of the players that we might hear about today: MIN: Berrios (SD might go for him to try and counter the Scherzer deal) CHC: Baez, Bryant, Hendricks, Davies, Kimbrel COL: Story, Jon Gray (per Wikipedia: "Since he was 10 years old, Gray has been interested in ghosts and he uses equipment for ghost hunting in hotels.") TEX: K. Gibson

If we had a preference, Scherzer would become a Padre as the Mets are done with SD but have 7 games in August with LA.

I'm pretty sure that Hand was almost a Met twice--Sandy said that he would have gotten him from CLE if Cohen took over sooner and then the Mets offered him a contract to be a set-up man but he wanted a one-year deal as a closer so he could return to FA as more than a set-up man (how's that worked out so far?). If the Mets had Hand would they have signed Loup?

Conforto. Tell him to rest for the day game on Thursday.

How about starting Drury? Fried is a LHP and Drury has had two good games off the bench.

An argument can be made that this is just one of those things, that the plethora of doubleheaders and injuries resulted in starting a pitcher who was so bad TWICE this season that he was released twice and went unclaimed by the other 29 teams. Another argument can be made that this was a division game against a team that still thinks that it can catch the Mets and despite all of the obstacles they still should have done better than starting a pitcher who was so bad TWICE this season that he was released twice and went unclaimed by the other 29 teams. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's game.

Anyone who bought a ticket for this should get a freebie for another game.

An ex-Met for an ex-Met... and a quality reliever is traded within the division.

Eickhoff going for his 3d DFA.

=smg58 post_id=72702 time=1627419634 user_id=62] Chase Utley now, Chase Utley forever.

Shouldn't they have known this? Did the teams that passed on Rocker know but not the Mets? The whole draft was built around that pick as they knew that they had to go over the slot for him which meant drafting other players that could be paid below-slot.

Loup and Banda:

7:10 start and, get this, they're scheduled to play 9 innings! The Mets will be returning to Jerad, again. He has been designated for assignment twice already in the past month but here is again. https://www.mlb.com/gameday/braves-vs-mets/2021/07/27/633147#game_state=preview,lock_state=preview,game_tab=,game=633147https://www.mlb.com/gameday/braves-vs-mets/2021/07/27/633147#game_state=preview,lock_state=preview,game_tab=,game=633147 Charlie Morton makes his FOURTH start of the season against the Mets. https://www.mlb.com/player/charlie-morton-450203?stats=gamelogs-r-pitching-mlb&year=2021https://www.mlb.com/player/charlie-morton-450203?stats=gamelogs-r-pitching-mlb&year=2021 Weather: https://www.rotowire.com/baseball/weather.phphttps://www.rotowire.com/baseball/weather.php Odds: https://www.sportsline.com/mlb/game-forecast/MLB_20210727_ATL@NYM/https://www.sportsline.com/mlb/game-forecast/MLB_20210727_ATL@NYM/ Lineups: Braves: 1. That flip by Luis was gorgeous.

There are two ATL fans right behind home, first row, and they can go F themselves. As can Villar and McCann, at least that inning.

"thin third base coaches are watching their backs." What about the heavy ones? SMILEY FACE!!!

Edgy MD wrote: I'm not sure, but I think as Nimmo reached first and pointed to the sky, Freddie stood next to him and looked up with him.

I put on the TV at 4 so the game was disappointing even before it began. Nice inning by Banda who doesn't waste any time on the mound.

Joined in progress. How about a few runs, guys?

Another embarrassing call by someone who is allegedly at the pinnacle of his profession. You could take your average High School ump and he/she would do as well as any of these clowns. For all we know, G-Fafif's least favorite player could have tried for 3d and been thrown out but he was given second as compensation for the incorrect call.
