Update: On Saturday 2nd April 2011, @KeithOlbermann said: The signaler, Brett Weber, will NOT be sitting behind the plate today as Yanks "address." GM Brian Cashman explains he was relaying pitch speeds only, as scoreboard "gun" was out. ----------------------------- Sure. That's why Keith said he saw the guy there last year. It's a shame that a big fancy new place as new MFYS has such an unreliable scoreboard.

Worth reading--even if you don't like Keith O. politically--about what he observed at MFYS the other day: http://keitholbermann.mlblogs.com/2011/04/02/the-yankees-my-tweet-c-4-and-shamwow/

Met-Lovin' Big Shots and Their Met-Lovin' Ways, 2011

I'm sure that we've mentioned Chris Rock--he discusses his favorite team on David Letterman last night: http://www.cbs.com/late_night/late_show/video/?pid=H_1ZhXo1j0Nw54dG_vAQCXI_YTq07ad4 (CBS makes you watch a commercial.) -
... to prove wrong those that are happily picking the Mets for last place. I think that they're better than that--maybe not much but I know that they're not a last place team.
-
If you're not pumped up for the season, then please don't leave a snarky/sarcastic comment, but if you are, then say why (it can be as simple as "because I love listening to GKR.")

You have a good point LWFS about the local businesses. I hope that this doesn't effect Ben's Chili Bowl. Will the SNY cameras linger on the food at these places like it does at Citi Field?
-
Hooray! Bad planning by the Nationals as they won't be open until "before June." Some dope at the Washington Post website said that Nationals fans should "boycott New York eateries" at Nationals Park. Good! Shorter lines for us!

How many FBL leagues are you participating in in 2011?
bmfc1 replied to Fman99's topic in Crane Pool Forum Fantasy League
I'm in 2 other online leagues but it's the 1st time in 18 years that I'm not in a money league w/a live draft. I co-founded a league that has stayed together for 18 years but I quit for two reasons: it was dull-the owners didn't talk, few responded to trade proposals, and the only time we communicated was at the draft; and the Commissioner (I was the Commissioner for the 1st 6 years) insists on using All-Star Stats. "ASS" is a horrible stats service: the website hasn't changed in 4 years, there is no "app", and it costs $39/team. I'd rather use ESPN (free) or Sportsline ($15) but the Commissioner didn't want to learn a new system. I thought I'd find another league but couldn't. Perhaps I shouldn't have left. I'd still like to join a "money", mixed, league (not H2H) if anybody knows of one. -
3d 82-80 No playoffs.

[u:3r81uspd]Just the Mets:[/u:3r81uspd] 1. Where they will finish in the NL East 2. What the final record will be 3. If you predict a wild card spot, say so 4. If you predict a playoff appearance, how far will they go? Last years winners were Chad Ochoseis and GYC.

From Buster Olney, today: Every day seems to bring a new concern in the Phillies' camp, and on Thursday, the concerns were for Brad Lidge, who is scheduled to pitch today for the first time since March 11. Philadelphia manager Charlie Manuel essentially said that the results for Lidge will tell the team a lot about his progress. Chase Utley is headed to the DL, as expected, and Placido Polanco is being activated. Reporters covering the team tweeted on Thursday that Utley will address his medical situation one more time before camp breaks. Luis Castillo has not wowed the Phillies yet.
-
Based upon what Rubin said tonight, I'd put Blaine Boyer in the Acosta slot. Isringhausen will be there too, even if they have to put him on the DL to start the season.
-
Just his being around them has a negative effect. My crazy Nats fan friend tweeted "Nooooo!"
-
Perez to the Nationals. To my friends that root for my local team: "HA-HA!"

If there was a "like" button next to the preceding picture, I would have clicked it. Nice job, Ceetar.

The Mets score 4 in the 9th to win 8-7. Walk-off single by L. Hernandez. All the 2B candidates chipped in--Turner was HBP, Emaus with a RBI single, D. Murphy with an RBI single.

The 2d season is great. Enjoy.
