The '62 Mets probably played better OF D than the Mets today. Doesn't it seem like the Mets have a lead in every game? It's like the other team spots the Mets a few runs to make it interesting.

He blanked out on Tulowitzki's name? It's on his back and also on multiple pieces of paper on the desk and it's the 3d game of the series and he's a big star.

This report on Pete Flynn by Guys! is interesting but why do they do this during the game? It would be a good story before a game, between games, during a rain delay, but why tell it now?

Like seawolf17, I'm not a fan of IWs either but last night was where I would have made an exception. You hope that your pitcher will pitch carefully/pitch around to the batter but that doesn't always work out. You also have a young pitcher who doesn't have as much experience as a veteran at pitching around a batter. Also, the on-deck batter was Jose Lopez who isn't nearly as good (I'm watching my phrasing to prevent Lopez from hitting for the cycle this afternoon) so here, I would have walked the "Jeter-esque" Tulowitzki.

It took today's monstrosity to bring back Izzy--in fact, two "I" RPs: KBurkhardtSNY Mets moves- Izzy & Igarashi here tom, Duda sent down, Boyer DFA. Will carry 13 pitchers till Bay returns.

Good points Edgy. Terry managed today thinking "long term" by not playing Beltran and taking out Young. They needed this win and he facilitated them not getting it.

Young pitches brilliantly for 7 and all they needed was 3 outs to get to the closer. Unbelievable.

This one is on Terry: not replacing Duda with Hairston or Beltran in the 8th; staying too long with Corrasco; keeping Murphy at 2B in the 11th; not running Jose in the 10th; putting on the hit and run with Jose on 1st and Wright up--why not a straight steal? As it turned out, Wright swung at a bad pitch to protect Jose and gave up an out.

After cringing through most of Jerry's press conference--cackle, deep breath--I'm impressed with Terry. He sounds the same, win or lose, and knows the names of most of the reporters. He also answered the Asian reporter with the same respect that he gave Marty Noble.
