  3. =whippoorwill post_id=109647 time=1664759961 user_id=79] Are we all getting the same ads? Such as legerzipro?
  4. Frayed Knot wrote: I'll give ESPN this: not only have they put aside their split-screen/live-mic/let's-do-anything-but-show-the-game antics, but they've even shelved the constant crawl for the night. Usually the crawl only disappears during games they care about while sports like baseball are treated as fodder for them to advertise what else is going on, particularly if it's going to be on their network. It's like, for one night only, they elevated MLB to major league status and are therefore sparing us the WNBA scores, college football injury reports, latest Tom/Giselle marriage rumors, and all the other tripe that we specifically tuned in NOT to see. Watching a game on a full screen ... what a concept!! Coney is a great improvement over Smoltz. My farts are great improvements over Smoltz... and we hope to hear him through the WS as F*x has the NL playoff games and the WS (after the Wild Cards--BTW, one of ESPNs 4 WC TV teams is Kay & A. Rodriguez).
  5. Ball 4. Vogelbach could have struck out, too.
  6. Good point, FK. They still suck but you're right about the welcome absence of the crawl which would have NBA exhibition scores.
  7. By the time this game is over, Riley will have received an ESPY for letting a ball go foul.
  8. Edgy MD wrote: That inning was a hoax. There are MOUNTAINS of evidence saying that Braves stole that inning. I refuse to concede the lead. They're in the right state for that claim.
  9. Time for a FK time check of the first 3 innings.
  10. Willets Point wrote: If only we had a catcher who could hit like that. Maybe next year.
  11. Bassitt doesn't want to show up Jake and Max.
  12. Nice job, Willets.

  14. =Fman99 post_id=109570 time=1664754322 user_id=86] Oh good, Republican ads. Because this channel and their broadcast isn't already hateable enough. Maybe they could drive up to Syracuse and stomp angrily on my crotch parcel
  15. Runner on 3d, 0 out... ugh.
  16. Damn. It was time for Canha to eat and he let it pass.
  17. Is it possible to look worse than McCann just did?
  18. Frayed Knot wrote: I'm getting tired of trying to be OK with leaving runners on in the 1st inning via the justification of 'well at least we made their guy throw a lot of pitches ... and maybe that'll pay dividends later on. Too often it hasn't been paying off. Nope. They were getting 1 or 2 on the board but now the pitchers often get it together and we look back at it as a missed opportunity.
  19. Can Dansby Swanson play LF or CF? Asking for Steve Cohen's accountant.
  20. Fuck that stupid racist chant. Which they encourage by shutting the lights and letting the fans "chop" while holding their phones. It's cool but it's still racist. And F their attention-seeking organist. And F the guy I know in ATL who just sent me a text with the Braves flag.
  21. I'm putting the last two days out of my mind and focusing on tonight. Win tonight and we have three exciting days to win the pennant. "How did you get in my car?" and #LFGM!
  22. I agree. They could have done this for the OAK games when they faced 3 LHPs but they were more concerned with giving Ruf every chance to succeed. If Ruf had gotten a few hits we wouldn't be having this conversation but he didn't and yet they didn't call up Alvarez for the MIA series. As a result, they are giving Alvarez his first ML ABs in the biggest games of the season. That's not on Alvarez, that's on management which gave (away) ABs to Nido and McCann all season long. ATL didn't call up Harris yesterday they called him up months ago.
  23. Chris Bassitt takes the mound for the Mets in the biggest game of the season against the Braves and Charlie Morton. Bassitt has two starts against ATL this season, going 1 and 1. He gave up 3 ER in 7 IP on 5/2 (L) and 1 ER in 6 IP on 7/13 (W). Morton, who just signed a big contract extension, is 1 and 2 against the Mets this season. He gave up 4 ER in 5/3 (L), 5 ER in 5 IP on 7/3 (L), and 0 ER in 6 2/3 IP on 8/16 (W). https://www.mlb.com/gameday/mets-vs-braves/2022/10/02/661465#game_state=preview,lock_state=preview,game_tab=,game=661465https://www.mlb.com/gameday/mets-vs-braves/2022/10/02/661465#game_state=preview,lock_state=preview,game_tab=,game=661465 I would move Pete back to 4th in the lineup. If the Mets win they control their NL East fate as they win the season series against ATL so the Magic Number is 3 with 3 games left. It's on ESPN at 7:07 ET and not that weird 7:20 time from the last two nights. #LFGM
  24. Win tomorrow and they still control their own fate.
  25. Cy 1 and Cy 2 have come up small in the biggest games of the year.
