  2. Great reactions from the team after Thole comes through.

I never get these caps, they are always horrible looking, the Pirates hats are worse. These hats are available for sale--does MLB donate all profits to a military related charity? If not, they should.
  4. Parnell replaces Jose on the roster. Of course you add a RP to replace a SS. (Perhaps they wanted an extra RP in case RA has trouble tomorrow night.) Rubin: Jose Reyes to ESPN's Enrique Rojas he expects to return this series. Reyes is eligible to be activated from the bereavement list on Thursday.
  5. Terry said that they want to give Bay a day off but he's being paid a zillion dollars, Reyes isn't there and he finally hit the ball hard twice in one game so it would be nice if he was playing today.
  6. It looks like a beautiful day in New York, everybody is off for the holiday and tomorrow is a school day so everything is lined up for a 1:10 start. What? The game starts at 7:10? That makes no sense. 7. Edgy DC wrote: A lot of slumps busting today. Let's get Nick Evans a taste of this. Yes! Put him in at 3B, move Tejada to SS, Turner to 2B and give Jose an inning off.
  8. Congrats on the steals down 9-1 Rollins. You must be so proud, especially since you had to play today when Howard, Ruiz and Utley got the day off.
  9. A Reyes triple is a thing of beauty. Too bad Bill Webb sux so much that he won't let us see Jose joyously slide into third, instead showing us Thole trot toward the dugout.
  10. At least somebody in the Mets organization can hit a slam: BuffaloBisons GRAND SLAM! Valentino Pascucci belts the slam to put #Bisons up 5-3 in 5th.

  12. I wouldn't put too much stock in what the Blimp said. Direct TV is owned by Rupert Murdoch so the information was probably slanted or false.
  13. 1 and 4 since Fred Wilpon opened his fucking mouth. Since the high we felt last Friday, 1 and 6. Three non-pitchers on the team right now are worth a damn and 2 might be gone in two months: Reyes, Beltran and Turner. The other 10 hitters could be waived tomorrow and I wouldn't care. It's fucking torture being a Mets fan. Yet I'll be back tomorrow.

  15. Dana was mentioned by Howie, too. He said that his passing was noted on the scoreboard and Howie gave his condolences.
  16. Are you in the 16% of the United States that gets to see the Phillies and Mets tomorrow night? The map isn't ready yet but here's FOX's press release: Philadelphia Phillies at New York Mets, Joe Buck, Tim McCarver & Ken Rosenthal, going to 16% of USA Citi Field Queens, NY MARKETS INCLUDE: Miami, New York, Norfolk, Philadelphia, Washington, West Palm Beach Probable Pitchers: Cole Hamels, LHP (6-2, 3.06 ERA) vs. Mike Pelfrey, RHP (3-4, 5.37 ERA) http://fangsbites.com/2011/05/fox-sports-goes-primetime-for-six-mlb-games-this-saturday/
  17. "We're a shitty team" Ike Davis, the sophomore first baseman and the one pleasant surprise for the Mets so far this season, was up next. Good hitter, Wilpon said. Shitty teamgood hitter. Davis struck out. Angel Pagan flied out to right, ending the Mets threat. Lousy clubsthats what happens. Wilpon sighed. The Astros put three runs on the board in the top of the second. Were snakebitten, baby, Wilpon said.
  18. Terry had a bad inning. He had success this week leaving his pitcher's in but not today. As soon as the lead-off batter got on, he should have taken out Pelfrey. Then as soon as he beaned a .170 hitter, he had another chance. Terry wanted his pitcher to work himself out of trouble, and maybe he agreed with Ceetar about the ground balls, but I think he showed too much confidence in Pelfrey.
  19. Edgy DC wrote: Did Pelfrey intentionally let that through? Pelfrey is bad at bending.
  20. Damn it Terry. You had 6 good innings from Pelfrey.
  21. Anthony McCarron Official scorer Howie Karpin has changed his call on the 2nd-inning Pridie steal -- Give Jeter the error, not Cervelli. Jeter missed throw
  22. AndrewMarchand Official scorer, Howie Karpin, said the ball sunk on Jeter. I disagree. Stupid ball, sinking on Jeter.
  23. Stupid Cervelli, throwing it right to Jeter's glove.
  24. Ashie62 wrote: Not much from 5-9...or 4 actually. Ashie62's comment was posted in the locker room.
