He's at 294/292 HR/SB. might be iffy to get 8 SB for him in two months, but watching a 300/300 race could be fun too.. Great point Ceetar. Alas. What a play by Jose!!!

  3. As I asked last night, if Wright can play 9 innings in the minors, why can't he play 9 innings for the Mets? It's supposed to be about his getting his timing back but it's not like he'd be breaking up a juggernaut.

Dude made a billion jillion dollars on the Ghostbusters/Shrunk The Kids franchises, then basically retired. From his Wikipedia page, it looks like he won't even commit to doing a new Ghostbusters video game.

  8. It's tough to get energized when you fly into a city for a one game series. What? They were home this whole time?
  9. Fman99 wrote: Three for six tonight, three singles. According to hair-impaired play by play artisan Gary Cohen, the plan is for him to play all 9 innings in FL the next three days and be activated Friday, barring any setback. Maybe I'm being naive, but if he can play 9 innings in the minors, can't he play 9 in the majors? I know he wants to get his timing down but after watching tonight, the current players on the team don't have their timing down. For the first time this year, the team is flat. Bring Jose and David back tomorrow and light a fire.
  10. Is there a bigger jerk than Hanley Ramirez?
  11. MetsWFAN Just in case you were wondering, Angel Hernandez has the plate tonight. Enjoy the ballgame!
  12. "... youll love Fernando Perez." So says Toby Hyde about the newest Bison. http://www.metsminorleagueblog.com/mets-sign-one-of-my-favorite-humans-fernando-perez-fernando-martinez-injured/ In other news, Fernando Martinez is hurt again.
  13. Gary politely said "tough day at the office" for Bay. Tough season, too. Since his 2 HR game in LA, it seems like every one of his ABs is either a strikeout or a groundout to short.
  14. Question for the group: is it time to sit Bay? You could platoon Hairston and Harris. My guess is that Bay is being paid so much that it won't happen.
  15. I thought that Turner would come through. The 2d strike was a lousy call. I'm surprised that Keith didn't howl about it.
  16. When Morgan Freeman said that Clint Eastwood "works fast", I was hoping he'd then say "unlike Pelfrey." I wonder if Pelfrey could even give away Pelfrey.
  17. Willie Harris batting 3d, no Carlos (see above). But Jose is back on Tuesday!
  18. You could have told me that the article was from [u:2zwtm9vh]The Onion[/u:2zwtm9vh] and I would have believed you.
  19. Very odd. Maybe the kid wears goggles when he plays ball and F. Rodriguez became his favorite when Duaner Sanchez left the team.

  24. Thanks for pointing that out Ceetar. Maybe it's because he can't catch but that's a good reminder. I still hope that the Mets get a top catching prospect for Beltran: http://metsmerizedonline.com/2011/07/a-look-at-possible-prospects-in-potential-carlos-beltran-deal.html
  25. When asked about his favorite ballpark to play in, Phillips responded: New York, I love Citi Field and who knows, maybe one day Ill be playing next to him (nodding to Jose Reyes). http://cincinnati.com/blogs/sports/2011/07/15/phillips-maybe-one-day-ill-be-playing-next-to-reyes/?odyssey=mod_sectionstories
