  1. Over-managing by Shorty costs the Mets a run.
  2. The game is not on in the DC area but I found an alternative way to watch the game. Has Chris Myers every called a baseball game before? He's an interviewer, not a play-by-play guy.
  3. METS: 1. Ruben Tejada ® SS 2. Jordany Valdespin (L) LF 3. David Wright ® 3B 4. Ike Davis (L) 1B 5. Daniel Murphy (L) 2B 6. Kirk Nieuwenhuis (L) RF 7. Josh Thole (L) C 8. Andres Torres (S) CF 9. R.A. Dickey ® P =#BF4080]Braves: 1. Michael Bourn (L) CF 2. Martin Prado ® SS 3. Jason Heyward (L) RF 4. Chipper Jones (S) 3B 5. Freddie Freeman (L) 1B 6. Brian McCann (L) C 7. Dan Uggla ® 2B 8. 4. I watched the bottom of the 1st and it only pissed me off. Jeter hits a squib to SS. The SS gets to it, drops it... base hit! Cano hits a flyball to LF, it hits the top of the fence and goes into the stands... homerun! Jason Bay would hit 30 homeruns at MFYS.

Its like sitting at the game and seeing all the boring stuff between innings I'm enjoying that, too. Home Depot race, kiss cam. Like being at the park. I wish they'd always leave the cameras on. I loved the way they stayed on Edgin after his triumphant first inning.
  6. Now gets some runs and maybe get the kid a win.
  7. It feels like the Mets haven't won a game in a week. Well done Sandy, having Young and Batista as your contingency plans. Even Omar Minaya is shaking his head.

  9. How soon can Harvey get here?
  10. MLB.tv is down for all games. If you have cable, go to the Extra Innings channels. It's free for a week.
  11. This will be odd--Ronnie in one booth, Keith in another: UPCOMING SUNDAY MLB ON TBS SCHEDULE: Sun., July 22 1 p.m. Los Angeles Dodgers @ New York Mets Announcers: Dick Stockton (play-by-play) and Ron Darling (analyst)
  12. Edgy DC wrote: That's a clown question, bfmc! Of course I can! Thanks bro!
  13. Edgy--do you have this one? I can't do 3 KTE's on the Nationals in 3 consecutive months. I'd lose the wit and humor that has made my KTE's so beloved. I'll take the August one.
  14. From Rotowire: Hudson received a second cortisone shot as he deals with some ankle soreness, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. (about 3 days ago).
  15. Ceetar wrote: Hell, just give everyone the week off and play the WBC this week instead of the ASG every fourth year. Brilliant! The Crypt Keeper would object (how else could we determine home field advantage in the WS?) but it's a great idea.
  16. On behalf of those of us in the DC area, and for MGIM... CRAP!!! 18. Good question. MLB would love a temptress so they could hold up their current cities for a new stadium or renovations. MLB used to have this with Tampa and the NFL currently has this with Los Angeles. I went with Indianapolis and Central New Jersey. I don't think that the southern cities could support a team. I wonder if Portland has enough interest. San Juan is too small. The population is there in mid-New Jersey. There are enough cable networks to attract interest. It won't happen because the Mets, MFY and MFP would object, but the market is there.
  19. I'm going with Kellie Pickler's shirt for All-Star MVPs.
  20. Jeter's thinking: "Erin, interested in a gift basket?"
  21. PiggiesTomatoes wrote: Nice instincts by the young one running into the FC. Nice fielding, too.
  22. Chipper Jones' pep talk seems to be working.
  23. Jeter's throw made me happier than Sandoval's triple.
  24. MGIM: you beat me to that line!
  25. There was a question today for the Commissioner Crypt Keeper about having a home team player participate in the Home Run Derby given the wrath of KC fans over the omission of Billy Butler. He didn't answer but it leads to the question of which Met could be in the Derby. David Wright has done it once and he said it messed up his swing. Ike?
