    I think that some of the Mets pitchers wish that Thole would get out of there. I know what he meant but it's not he smartest thing to say to your fans. Perhaps: "a change of scene might do us good."

    Ugh. I guess that Aniston and Jordan are fine but (Serby talking to Harvey)... Q: Three dinner guests? A: Jennifer Aniston: Derek Jeter; Michael Jordan. Q: Why Jeter? A: He was my idol growing up. I loved the way that Paul O�Neill played. And I loved how everyone respected Derek Jeter for the person that he was and the stand-up guy that he was ...the hard worker and the gamer, and he did it day in and day out, never showed anything, never did anything bad in the media or anything like that. People looked up to him everywhere he went. He was like every kid�s idol growing up.     MFS62: it's nice to see someone with some attitude on this team. Ike is so friendly to the players when they reach 1B that I expect him to offer them a drink.

According to Harper: Major League sources say his name has been already out there in trade discussions.     The starters are one area for optimism in '13: RA, Johan, Niese, Gee, Harvey and eventually Wheeler. Of course, Johan and now Gee are question marks but that could be a good rotation. Everything else might suck but leave the one good piece alone. I'd merely consider, as JCL says, but I wouldn't be shopping him.

My guess is that Sandy spent on relievers because they are easier to move at the deadline and then he could trade them for younger players and replenish the farm system. That would have been a good idea of the bullpen was any good but it sucks and now the Mets are stuck with those guys.

    FK: If you don't have something nice to say about people herein, don't say it. Save your vitriol for the Wilpons, the MFYs, etc. And if you don't like my comments, don't read them. However, I'm flattered that you remembered what I've written in the past. The point is that you could have made the interesting observation about Carpenter without giving me a shot.
