That's what Sherman advocates: http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/mets/trade_wright_and_dickey_that_what_OQw31mIaKosj0bKIuekl9J

Nice win. FF looks strong. It's nice to finally have a catcher that can hit.

If Guys! is back, he can renew his mancrush on Stanton.

It is some impressive package (that's what she said).

No matter what, it would have been great to sweep the MFPs. Most games, we desperately want a HR but here, that's all we got.

Haven't seen all the game but I saw this and it was in a perfect spot, exactly on a line to the mound between 1st and 3rd. Wright could have caught it, Ike could have caught it. And even though he should have yielded, Niese should have caught that. It went right through him. I thought he swallowed it and shit it out. You're right Zvon, Niese should have caught it but on IF pop-ups, I always was told, and taught, that the 3B is the 1st priority, followed by 1B. Niese may have called off everyone else, leading to the clusterfuck, but on paper, David should have taken charge. Cal disagrees: http://www.ripkenbaseball.com/cc/notebook/index.html?article_id=582

Please GKR, talk even more about Jeter. Mets fans LOVE that.

Jesus. That's the 3B's ball. Ike is second choice. Ridiculous. Niese has to get the hell out of the way.

And more Red Sox.

Adam Rubin ?@AdamRubinESPN Phillies scratch Cole Hamels with stomach ailment. Matt Harvey faces RHP Tyler Cloyd (15-1, 2.26 between Reading & Lehigh Valley) instead. http://www.thegoodphight.com/2012/8/28/3274558/ironpigs-tyler-cloyd-named-international-league-most-valuable

Something else in the new ESPN deal (in effect 2014): the number of times a team can play on Sunday Night is increased from 5 to 6.

You're very welcome!

I misquoted myself in my post about the Reds. I have fixed. Thanks Gwreck.

The MFPs won't be the only team opening with interleague play at home: the Reds open at home against the Angels. http://cincinnati.com/blogs/reds/2012/08/27/new-twist-on-opening-day-al-foe/

You're right Ceetar--Perhaps Thursday-Monday v the MFYs, with the teams switching locales after Friday.

I thought that the 4 games with Boston were interesting, two back-to-back series (two games in Boston and then two in Philadelphia). I doubt that FOX and ESPN will want the Mets-MFY games to be played on weekdays.

MFP schedule for next year (I don't know if this is real... I found it via the 506.com message board): http://twitpic.com/and8q7

Murphy is tired. Tejada is tired (according to TC). It's not even September yet and they're tired? Tired of losing, sure but not from playing baseball. I know that there's only one Cal Ripken, Jr. but come on. Yes, the grind can get to you but play ball.

"Thank you Edgy DC. I have nothing further. You may step down."

That was an awful AB by Ike. He needed to get on, down 2 runs, and he swung at everything.

I think I appreciate the gesture!

Gordon Edes ?@GordonEdes Blockbuster: red Sox, Dodgers working on deal that would send AGon, Crawford, Beckett and Punto to LA. Hurdles remain, but closing in

Keep him and find someone else. They must have someone else as vapid as Hefner on the 40-man.
