Centerfield is nailing the situation. It was obvious on Monday that he was going on the DL but this management looks both ways 3 or 4 times even with a red light before doing anything. The problem with a June trade is that most teams (not ATL) think that they are still capable of getting into the playoff mix and don't want to signal to their fans that they are out of contention. Perhaps SD will deal after their owner's rant the other day. As for Kelly Johnson, ATL is dealing now and I'd rather have Johnson as my Kelly than Ty which seems like a do-able trade.
Which Mets will join Terry Collins, his coaches and the trainers in San Diego for the All-Star Game? I'm thinking: Walker, Cespedes, Syndergaard, Matz, Familia.
Ty Kelly for Kelly Johnson? Kelly Johnson isn't great but he's experienced, can play 1B, and I'd rather have him up in the 8th inning of a ty game than Ty Kelly.

He hadn't pitched for a week and only pitched 2/3ds of the 8th but Terry has roles for his bullpen. Now he's lost Familia for tomorrow when he might really be needed.
RealityChuck: you remembered it correctly. I watched some of Game 6 today. In the bottom of the 10th, before the fun began, they showed tape of Davey sitting down on the bench and literally hitting his head against the wall. Scully says something like "it's a hard enough game but it's even harder when you make a decision that is going to stick in your craw all winter long." He was referring to letting HoJo swinging away.
In the first spring game against the Mets, Dusty had the runners steal every chance they had. Last night, he challenged while losing 7-1. Tonight, he challenges a perfectly good slide. Go F yourself Dusty Baker.
I don't consider this a "panic" move but a trade for Kelly Johnson could be done quickly and for minimal cost. He's no Duda but he can play 1B and would be a stop-gap while Sandy and the Mets organization figure out something bigger. If/after another move is made, Johnson stays (even though they now have a "Kelly" who wears 55) in the role he played last year.
Yeah, sounds like he pitches in DC next week, perhaps on a different day than planned (he's supposed to go Tuesday). I'd like to see Noah pushed back a day so he can face those miserable bastards again.
I accidentally (really) put on the Nationals post-game show: Johnny Holiday, claps his hands: "boy that was fun". Ray Knight, claps his hands: "that was fun to watch." Thanks Ray.
