Wilson Ramos left tonight's game with an injury. It would be a shame if this hurt WSH's playoff chances.

Now Hirschbeck brings the Marlins a gift by calling a bad pitch strike 3.

It looks like the Mets are playing the part of the respectful guest making a house call and the condolence gift is meatballs.

Campbell gets the start at 1B even though it's a righty.

Every Marlin will be wearing #16 tonight. Gonna be tough for our guys to focus on the task at hand. Let's hope they do.

I'm glad that Bartolo is starting. He can stay focused.

It also demonstrates the failure of Sandy and this organization that they were not able to get a major league quality right-handed hitter. My kingdom for right now for Bubba Trammell. Prayers NOT answered. Also, T.J. Rivera is now soooooooooooo good that he's batting cleanup. And, de Aza starts against a lefty.

We're back to halves for a week as STL has the day off while the Mets host PHI and SF is at SD (the Mets are off next Thursday while SF has Monday off). For SF it's Jeff Samardzija (11-10, 3.97), for SD we're big fans of someone named Chirstian Friedrich (5-10, 4.78). It's on MLBN.

Weren't we in the 7th inning at about 9:15?

Centerfield wrote: SURE TERRY. PULL OUR BEST FUCKING RELIEVER. FUCKING MORON. Exactly. Reed is one of the best relievers in the game but for Terry, L/R prevails over logic. He is horrible at game strategy and might have just cost the Mets this game with his thinking, or lack thereof. And don't forget that he "forgot" to pinchrun for Flores which might have cost them the game and has cost them at least 10 days w/o Flores.

Get both teams there a few days ahead of time for publicity while Granderson teaches baseball to British youth. Spring Training will already be starting early because of the WBC.

From Adam Rubin: The Mets are under consideration to play in London next season, BBC sports correspondent Richard Conway reports. London Mayor Sadiq Khan was quoted as saying: "The owner of the New York Mets was very receptive. We're in discussions with MLB and we want MLB to come to London." The game(s) reportedly would be played at Olympic Stadium next summer. Khan was at Citi Field last weekend. Given the fact that the schedule is set, good luck figuring out how to make that work (e.g. move the series @ STL before the All-Star break to London? The Cardinals wouldn't want to lose any home games).

Say goodbye to Jacob until '17. He now can go to the 60-day DL which opens a spot on the 40-man roster. Perhaps they should get Bud Norris who was DFA'd today by LAD. He's not great but they might need a starter if Matz can't go.
