  1. Good points LWFS. I'd like to think that a NY team coming off of a World Series appearance could afford both but not this ownership.
  2. Zvon wrote: Frayed Knot wrote: That didn't look fair to me. I didn't think it was but no one even questioned it. Because it ended an inning, we got no analysis. It's not reviewable but it should have been discussed. The ESPN crew would rather discuss their fantasy teams. Also no analysis of strike 3 to Granderson.
  3. F U Sandy for not keeping Murphy. It was YOUR job to figure out if his post-season stardom was sustainable and you failed and failed big. F U Sandy for not doing a damn thing this off season after keeping Yo--the rest of the off-season was spent taking victory laps and putting his smug, arrogant face in front of the suck-up Mets media. He did nothing and so far, neither is his team.
  4. G-Fafif is right. Both are good at catching the ball but it better be hit within a modest radius of where they are positioned.
  5. "Sunny Sunday" perhaps but not at 8:05. Howie said today "that's 8:05 PM... 8:05 AM would be preferable."
  6. Remember: the Nationals are a bunch of bastards, they probably voted for Trump and support Le Pen in France. Dusty Baker is so dumb... he makes Terry look like a great in-game strategist. Their mascot is an effeminate owl, who does that? Tonight's game is on MLBN but blacked out in DC which means mute or using the Hola! app to fool my computer into thinking that I'm elsewhere--anything to avoid listening to Dumb and Dumber, the MASN TV announcers. Their fans know nothing about baseball and I'm having lunch with 2 of them on Sunday so the pressure is on. In sum: F THE NATS, LETS GO METS!
  7. I think I saw that Nimmo is hurt. It's hard to keep track.
  8. He can play 3B better than Rivera. That doesn't mean he should do so everyday but Rivera is not a good 3B..
  9. Lefty Specialist wrote: Have to assume Montero gets the DFA when Fammy returns. He's been given chance after chance after chance. Time to cut bait. If he succeeds somewhere else, so be it. But he's blown every opportunity the Mets have given him. Buh-bye. May it be so.
  10. If you don't believe G-Fafif, here's proof: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NLu2T-u443w
  11. Ashie62 wrote: The guy sitting in a beachchair in Miami during the SNY Toyota ad looked like he could have been TC. I wish it was. "Hi, I'm former Mets manager Terry Collins....."
  12. Another argument in favor of deGrom starting the 8th is the day off tomorrow so deGrom has an extra day of rest. The combination of the long game on Thursday, the tired bullpen and the vague restrictions on the young pitcher, caused Terry to manage scared and it cost the Mets the game. And I don't want to hear that Blevins was tired because he was used anyway.
  13. LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr wrote: Walker really wanted the walk there, huh? That was strange--he seemed to forget that there were 2 strikes against him and he has the power to hit a HR.
  14. After the 4 pitch walk, sure and even if you're not sure, that's why Blevins exists. Why chance it? It was a no-brainer.
  15. Fuck you Terry. Idiot. Even Keith, who is barely paying attention, knew that Blevins should have been in to face Yelich.
  16. Josh Edgin, enjoy Vegas you fat piece of crap.
  17. Has Gelbs checked in with Chelsea and Alex?
  18. Starting the inning with a runner on second doesn't seem so bad at the moment.
  19. Terry double-switched out Duda so that a pitcher won't have to bat 8 batting spots from now, which might not happen, and cost the team defense (a catcher at 1B instead of Duda).
  20. If Terry was going to give the starters a few innings off, there are only 4 bench players and you can't bring in Rivera, so: Rivera for Cabrera or Walker Conforto for Granderson Flores for Duda.
  21. Centerfield wrote: Our answer involves punning a famous baseball quote. "Take Me Out To Mar-a-Lago Take me at the taxpayer's expense."
  22. Centerfield wrote: Why did Trump decline the invitation to throw out the first pitch of the Nats' opener? Because they don't play baseball in Russia.
  23. batmagadanleadoff wrote: bmfc1 wrote: "I want to grab you by the pussy." Oh I'm sorry, that's Trump. Hey! That's the second Trump joke you made this week in the Baseball Forum. Good for you that you're not me 'cause if you were, you couldn't imagine the shrieking and over the top hysterics with calls for safe spaces and bans and tortures that would ensue if I made that joke. Then they'd call me all sorts of bad names for another couple of days and create four or five different threads to bust my balls but as soon as I responded, the guy with the mod hat would chastise me. Could you believe that fucking **** Ivanka who goes on national network television to campaign for her father for President who, if nothing else, vowed to destroy Roe v. Wade but then wants the liberals to think she's on the side of women's rights? Thank you for remembering, batmagadanleadoff. To clarify, the other Trump reference was an insightful and clever commentary on the ESPN "Win Probability" stat in which I brilliantly tied it the pollsters, especially Nate Cohn in The Times, who gave Hillary an overwhelming chance of winning. That was less of a Trump joke and more of a ESPN or Nate Cohn joke. But I don't want to disappoint the crowd so I'll make another one post haste!
  24. "I'll wave to you as you fly over the heads of the Mets outfielders who aren't Juan Lagares."
