  1. I really want the Cubs to wrap up the division soon so they can set the rotation and focus on destroying the Nationals. I wonder if Greinke's social anxiety had something to do with his alleged turd-like behavior.

  3. Interesting perspective from The Times on the MFYs beating The Twins: The Yankees at the moment are faced with a perplexing riddle, because each time they beat the Twins in this series — and fail to pick up any ground on the Red Sox — they increase the odds that they will not get to play them in the A.L. wild-card game. The Twins entered Tuesday nursing a one-and-a-half-game lead for the second wild-card spot over the Los Angeles Angels. And while the Angels may not be any more formidable than the Twins, it is hard to imagine the Yankees relishing the prospect of a one-game playoff against Mike Trout, the Angels outfielder widely viewed as the best player in baseball.
  4. Nothing against Geren but it feels like another body from The Alderson Group, as if Sandy is yelling "NEXT!" I hope that they are considering a few candidates from outside his circle, such as Pedro Lopez (manager of the 51s) and Ron Gardenhire.
  5. If you're interested in Noah Synderggard's thoughts on the Paris Climate Accord, he tweeted about it: [tweet:2m5tb6dc] [/tweet:2m5tb6dc] He also showed self-awareness with this tweet: [tweet:2m5tb6dc] [/tweet:2m5tb6dc]
  6. Free admission to the A's game on April 17, 2018: http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/20684810/oakland-announce-april-2018-home-game-free-admission
  7. Yup, that is the accurate schedule for 2018.
  8. Duda can't stay away from us!

That's a weird by-product of a Thursday Opening Day and then opening the WSH home season the following Thursday (please do not let rings be part of that day).
  11. Open and close the road schedule @WSH. Late trip to BOS, too.
  12. It's due any day but this could be it. Then again, maybe it's a dummy schedule. Either way, it's more fun than looking at the standings: [tweet:2ghhz24s] [/tweet:2ghhz24s]

I caught part of a game from Nats Park on TV the other day and it sounded like the same over-the-top manufactured "spirit" that so pollutes NBA arenas. It's definitely a new guy. He is awful but less awful than his predecessor. They still have tee shirt tosses and the dopey fans count the number of runs after a run is scored and then yell "WOO!" or something like that (my ears are bleeding at that point). Your comments about DC having an inferiority complex is accurate. There is little that I will ever say that's nice about the "sports fans" in this city or Nationals Park (other than said earlier). I even hate the way they salute the Vets. What's fun is walking out of there after a Mets win and seeing Charles Krauthammer with a sad look on his face (which happened in 2015).
  14. 1. Shea Stadium 2. Citi Field 3. The Vet 4. Citizen's Bank 5. RFK 6. Nationals Park 7. Wrigley Field 8. Current White Sox 9. Memorial (Baltimore) 10. Camden Yards 11. Sun Trust (ATL) 12. Bank One (or whatevs they call Phoenix) 13. Current Marlins ("Jeterville"?) 14. Fenway 15. MFYS 1 15. MFYS 2 16. Dodger Stadium 17. Current SFG (ATT) 18. Current AZ (Chase Field)
  15. I like the food options at Nationals Park, which includes a Ben's Chili Bowl stand, a Shake Shack, and "G by Mike Isabella" which serves excellent sandwiches. My son likes the beer options which includes a beer only sold at Nationals Park: https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/food/beer-of-the-week-earned-run-ale-is-a-nats-park-exclusive/2017/03/31/0c302904-1624-11e7-833c-503e1f6394c9_story.html?utm_term=.333435e87f25 (it's "bright and quaffable"!). The "MC" has been changed since Mr. Grimm attended and it's more tolerable. The scoreboard is good. The fans are idiots: rude AND stupid. The mascot is still an effeminate owl.
  16. Yes. I added a picture to the shared album linked above.
  17. My favorite part of the new Atlanta ballpark is the museum which is built into the concourse (not an afterthought) so you have to pass it as you walk around the lower level. It highlights Henry Aaron (of course) but also the history of the franchise. Here are a few pictures including my salute to Glavine (which was part of a history of Braves unis) and another look at the main scoreboard (there is also an out-of-town scoreboard). https://photos.app.goo.gl/r0sSCuOgXK7BuhH53
  18. Nationals Park is often depicted as fiery, painful, and harsh, inflicting suffering on the guilty. Despite these common depictions of Nationals Park as a place of fire, some other traditions portray Nationals Park as cold. Buddhist - and particularly Tibetan Buddhist - descriptions of Nationals Park feature an equal number of hot and cold areas. Among Christian descriptions Dante's Inferno portrays the innermost (9th) circle of Nationals Park as a frozen lake of blood and guilt.
  19. Marc Carig said today that he didn't understand why Aoki is on the team and they should be playing young players. Who? Taijeron is 28. Anyone else? No one else is alive so it's not like he's taking Nimmo's spot in the OF.
  20. Is Kate Upton part of the Verlander deal?
  21. Howie mentioned Aoki during today's game saying only that he's a free agent. It was part of a monologue of how few call-ups the Mets will likely have on September 1.
  22. Whomever is playing the MFYs is my jam. I'm going to OP@CY on Wednesday to cheer on the Orioles/root against the MFYs.
  23. Good idea. Better than seeing Jose in LF.
  24. Dear Dusty: Fuck you.
  25. Dear Dusty Baker: Bite me.
