  1. Howard Johnson had more range than Rosario.
  2. It's not too late to take your better half out to dinner and avoid this garbage. Mickey won't be managing on Tuesday but you can get out now.
  3. Such enthusiasm from the CPF--it's 20 minutes before kickoff and there is no IGT. I'll do it. Mets, Arizona. Blah, blah, blah. It's Sunday, it's the last game of a west coast trip, they're coming off a disheartening loss, so we have a feeling of what will transpire. Dom Smith has a thumb issue so he was scratched. Cano will be activated on Tuesday. LIOSM is on the mound for the Mets against famous opera singer, the late Robert Merrill. METS: 1. Amed Rosario ® SS 2. J.D. Davis ® 3B 3. Pete Alonso ® 1B 4. 4. Remind me again of the GM that willingly signed Familia?
  5. One minute we're thinking complete game and then...
  6. Back in the NL East:
  7. This is off-topic but I wish that they had a 3rd catcher up, not that we need to see Nido pinch-hit but to avoid Ramos on base as the tying or winning run. When Cano returns Sunday or Tuesday does a pitcher go back or Altherr? Last night's late-inning D argues for Altherr to stay
  8. Matt Kemp went 1 for 6 in his Syracuse Mets debut tonight (Travis Taijeron with the cycle; Rajai with a HR): https://www.milb.com/gameday/mets-vs-red-sox/2019/05/31/575813#game_state=final,lock_state=final,game_tab=box,game=575813https://www.milb.com/gameday/mets-vs-red-sox/2019/05/31/575813#game_state=final,lock_state=final,game_tab=box,game=575813

This broke during the game: https://nypost.com/2019/05/31/mets-analyst-nelson-figueroa-fired-from-sny/?utm_source=twitter_sitebuttons&utm_medium=site%20buttons&utm_campaign=site%20buttonshttps://nypost.com/2019/05/31/mets-analyst-nelson-figueroa-fired-from-sny/?utm_source=twitter_sitebuttons&utm_medium=site%20buttons&utm_campaign=site%20buttons

  11. That absolutely should be a run for the Mets due to the interference of a home team employee. I'm not surprised that "Chelsea" didn't overturn it but it's crap.
  12. https://theathletic.com/1004141/2019/05/31/worst-possible-scenario-the-nationals-were-the-odd-man-out-politics-aside-how-they-ended-up-losing-on-their-top-affiliate/https://theathletic.com/1004141/2019/05/31/worst-possible-scenario-the-nationals-were-the-odd-man-out-politics-aside-how-they-ended-up-losing-on-their-top-affiliate/ Good article in The Athletic (sub. required) by the Nationals' beat writer about why they have a AAA team in Fresno. Basically, the Mets bought Syracuse to leave Las Vegas and the Nationals failed to cultivate any relationships with the minor league owners so they got the worst possible location for an east coast team in Fresno. It's worse than Vegas because there are fewer flights out of there. The author says that major league teams have to be nice to minor league franchise owners (either you're nice to them or you own your own) and the Lerners were not (much like Jeffy was alleged to have been rude to the Norfolk owner). This has forced WSH to stash players in AA Harrisburg for easier access to DC (that's a good idea--I don't remember the Mets doing this with Binghamton). My take: HA, HA, LOSERS! How dumb do you have to be to get outsmarted by the Wilpons? I wonder if they are planning something with Richmond which used to be a AAA Braves team and is now a AA Giants team.
  13. Seriously, screw you Tom. You have the Super Bowl and the supermodel wife but there is only one Tom Terrific. https://www.msn.com/g00/en-us/sports/nfl/tom-brady-is-officially-filing-to-trademark-one-of-his-famous-nicknames/ar-AAC5HI8?i10c.ua=1&i10c.encReferrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cubWV0c3BvbGljZS5jb20vMjAxOS8wNS8zMS90b20tYnJhZHktZmlsZXMtZm9yLXRvbS10ZXJyaWZpYy10cmFkZW1hcmtzLXdhaXQtd2hhdC8%3D&i10c.dv=8https://www.msn.com/g00/en-us/sports/nfl/tom-brady-is-officially-filing-to-trademark-one-of-his-famous-nicknames/ar-AAC5HI8?i10c.ua=1&i10c.encReferrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cubWV0c3BvbGljZS5jb20vMjAxOS8wNS8zMS90b20tYnJhZHktZmlsZXMtZm9yLXRvbS10ZXJyaWZpYy10cmFkZW1hcmtzLXdhaXQtd2hhdC8%3d&i10c.dv=8
  14. “Today was easily the worst day of my career,” Diaz said after blowing his second save of the season. “The worst game of my career, the worst game of the season for me. I thought I threw excellent pitches for strikes. I was throwing the ball where I wanted to and they just got me.” https://nypost.com/2019/05/30/edwin-diaz-implodes-in-ninth-as-mets-suffer-brutal-loss-to-dodgers/https://nypost.com/2019/05/30/edwin-diaz-implodes-in-ninth-as-mets-suffer-brutal-loss-to-dodgers/ If he was throwing "excellent pitches... where [he] wanted" then he, and they, and we, are in big trouble.
  15. I remember buying that issue of "Jock" at the local candy store. It has my vote despite Tom's "look what I got" look.
  16. The type of loss that you never forget.
  17. Great job by Brodie Van Idiot, trading 2 Top 10 prospects for Diaz and Cano.
  18. Born in Germany.
  19. =G-Fafif post_id=10861 time=1558578427 user_id=55] “I've been inspired ever since Spring Training by that guy who approved of my raking,” Davis told reporters. “What an incisive comment.”
  20. Tonight's blast reminded me of my "conversation" with Rajai early in Spring Training: Rajai had just hit a home run and he wandered by the 3B seating area, where I was, and I said "Hey Rajai!" and he looks over and I said, "way to rake!" (dumb but what would you have said?) and he gave me a thumbs up.
  21. Scherzer doesn't need any help for most hitters but especially for Lagares yet he gets a call. I don't even know if Nido is a AAA hitter. What a waste. BVW did a great job with the catchers. The only way they were going to score that inning is if Frazier hit it a few feet further.
  22. Nope--it will be the Cardinals and the Cubs next year in London.
