    Nice call ump on strike 3 to Correa. Nationals fans have been bitching all series but that call was brutal.

    If the Astros fire Hinch after the way he managed this game, Brodie should tell his friend no. I'd rather have a novice manage the Mets than this dope. This was the key inning to get through and then he had Osuna and Cole but no, he had to show that he was in control and do something.

    Of course. I just like seeing Torre called out for anything. (Selig decided, from the stands, that an ASG would end in a tie, but that's only the ASG.)     Hopefully, that was the last game for Strasburg in a WSH uniform. Verlander doesn't deserve Kate Upton. As much as I dislike anyone associated with WSH, Turner has my respect for calling out Torre ("he's right there!") who only shows his face for tea, charity, and to stop the Mets from wearing what they want to wear on 9/11.

    Why couldn't this game have started at 7:30? I know that football rules and NFL games run longer than 3 hours but everything was finished by 7:30. Instead, first pitch is at 8:08.

    If he waddled onto the field the boos would be overwhelming but they'd play "Hail to the Chief" very loudly the way they play music whenever we chant "Lets Go Mets". BTW, the Washington Post reported that Manfred played golf yesterday with Trump and Lindsay Graham.

    "The warrior", "the toughest MF on the planet", "the ultimate gamer", Max Scherzer, is not starting tonight b/c of recurring back/neck issues. Joe Ross gets the ball. I don't want to belittle his injuries but the local media gives us nonstop crap about how tough he is and now he isn't starting a Series game. He really must be hurt.

    This has been going on for decades and will continue unless MLB: cuts the amount of commercial time between innings (eliminating just one 30-second ad per break saves 18 minutes--you can do more of the split-screen ads to recoup the revenue) and starts the games at 7 ("What about the poor West Coast!" "STFU, 2/3 of the country lives in the eastern time zone and I'd rather miss the beginning of a game than the end.") Maybe the new 3-batters per reliever rule will help.

    There are men (and women) driving all over the country to be part of a 2 or 3 person umpiring teams in the minors and from what we've seen they can't be any worse than at least half of the Major League umps. However, Manfred has no stones. If he fires this guy it becomes a big story on FOX News which means that Trump sees it and talks about it and then a boycott is threatened. My guess is that he'll suspend him in some capacity and tell him to take down his social media (or disguise it better than Mitt Romney did).
