    My brother who I took to his first baseball game Friday night remarked how much tension he felt in the crowd , of course he saw the fight and all that but he was surprised because 1) there is no away fans section so it's not like the Mets fans were directing anger towards those fans , 2 ) there was a lot of kids at the game. For a person who has been to some big soccer matches like Celtic /Rangers and Man Utd /Liverpool he was surprised at the tension he felt at this game. There were a few girls right behind us that were shouting for the Braves and an ass behind them with three young kids that spent the night directing abuse at the young Braves fans behind us. I hate that stuff.

    From what I have heard I like him , actually I have been listening to more radio lately , Howie told the Choo Choo Coleman with Ralph Kiner story during the game yesterday and Hagin got a huge kick out of it, he has that newness to him , I dunno I kinda liked that moment.

    I thought Gary and Ron went on far too long about Delgado right after that home run. I thought Ron played both sides of the argument , NY fans are a tough crowd , Delgado is a smart guy , fans play a lot of money , players get played a lot yyybbb. Gary IIRC seemed to think that Delgado should have come out for the call and remarked upon the Beltran curtain call , Ron thought Beltran was right to come out for that but seemed to think that Delgado didn't need to come for this one.

    I was naive to say the least in regards to Zito and what it would take to get him.

    Unnamed scouts claim Zito has no arm strength and thus can't throw his curve like he would want , especially because his "fastball" is in the mid eighties it makes that curve look like rubbish.

    Making way too much out of Delgado not going for the curtain call , he's had a great game in a so far poor season , I doubt he feels like celebrating . I don't think it's about dissing the fans at all.

    I complained to the vendor but it went nowhere and to be honest I didn't follow up , just a note to myself not to buy stuff like that from ebay.

    I have resolved not to buy any more Mets jersey's from ebay , I bought a Pedro one in 05 and when it came it was not the real thing. I can see how the Cone jersy would fool people , nice catch.

    Took my brother to the game , he was here all week form Ireland and tonight was the only chance to see a game , could we have gone and seen a more abject Mets performance , I think not. The most exciting thing was the fight in the second bank of seating behind the third base dugout , noting more than "handbags at six paces" but more fun than the game. Mets were fucking brutal.
