  2. I know Schneider has been injured and missed spring training but he's shown nothing in defence.
  3. Yeah it's wishful thinking FK , Schneider throws another one away .
  4. Castillo is the worst , I'm sick of watching pitchers go into deep counts every fucking batter , when was the last time the Mets were involved in a game that lasted less than two hours , two hours I can do tonight but not this crap.
  5. Any sign of Seo these days? , probably at the game. Ian Ziering right behind home plate , first time he's been seen on TV in 15 years.

Would flipping him and Tom Nieto -- or putting Jerry Manuel back out as a base coach -- really be that hard to do? Bucket has been all over him since he moved to coach third.
  7. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Alomar, bless his heart, is just incompetent. If only Carlos had a cycle going.
  8. I think the Mets only bought the black for this trip.

AG/DC May 28 2008 07:43 AM Stop digging, Roger. Clemens adds to lawsuit against McNamee NEW YORK - Roger Clemens amended his defamation suit against Brian McNamee on Tuesday, adding a new claim of "intentional infliction of emotional distress." Clemens' attorneys also filed a 39-page response to the motion to dismiss that McNamee's lawyers made on March 4. Clemens claims McNamee, his former personal trainer, was "malicious and grossly negligent" when McNamee told baseball investigator George Mitchell last year that Clemens had used steroids and human growth hormone. Clemens also said McNamee defamed him when he repeated his accusations to SI.com. Much of the filing was filled with the legal rationale for why a Texas court should have jurisdiction over McNamee, a New York resident. "When a person who is not a resident of the state of Texas intentionally defames a Texas resident, it is fair and should be expected that they have to defend their conduct in a Texas court before a Texas jury," Joe Roden, one of Clemens' lawyers, said in a telephone interview. The Memorial Hermann Hospital Health Care System announced Saturday that Clemens' name will be removed, effective Thursday, as the fallout from the Mitchell report continues to haunt the winner of 354 major league games and seven Cy Young awards. The facility will be renamed the Memorial Hermann Sports Medicine Institute. In its statement, the hospital said the decision to take off Clemens' name was made "to better reflect its commitment to all sports and athletes" and that "the move reflects the desire to promote the broad range of sports medicine services and programs offered by Memorial Hermann." In November, the New York Daily News reported that Clemens has been asked to end his involvement with a charity golf tournament in Houston that he has hosted for four years. Although Clemens helped raise millions of dollars for the charities associated with the event, the Giff Nielsen Day of Golf for Kids was held Nov. 11 at Houston's Shadow Hawk Golf Club without him. Despite its move to disassociate itself with the pitcher, Memorial Hermann Hospital said "Roger Clemens remains committed to working with us to champion youth sports and develop aspiring baseball players." Clemens donated $3 million to Memorial Hermann for a pediatric wing at Memorial Hermann's Children's Hospital. Clemens has denied using performance-enhancing drugs since he was identified in former U.S. Sen. George Mitchell's report on drug use in baseball. He filed a defamation lawsuit last January against his former trainer, Brian McNamee, who claims he injected Clemens with steroids and human growth hormone. Federal prosecutors also are looking into whether Clemens committed perjury when he testified under oath in front of a congressional committee that he never used PEDs. Clemens is eligible for Hall of Fame election in 2013, but McNamee's allegations may have irreparably damaged Clemens' chances of induction. Clemens has since filed a defamation lawsuit against McNamee. Information from The Associated Press was used in this report. Benjamin Grimm Jan 19 2009 08:17 AM As I type this, there are 25 hours and 44 minutes left in the Bush presidency. My guess is that he WON'T pardon Roger Clemens. 12. Still hilarious.
  13. Agree , grerat pictures , would be nice if the whole thing was in thumbnail.
  14. No need to wonder who # 2 is , no it's not Jimmie Foxx . Seaver is # 41. The whole thing is very cumbersome to look at.
  15. Bannister?
  16. That should be erratic, no idea what I was thinking right there.
  17. The Mets hit Los Angeles after winning a tough series in Phoenix that featured some mouth watering pitching duels. This series will feature some sleep inducing " duels" which won't help with the 10PM start time here in the east. The Dodgers loss Sunday put a halt to an 8 game winning streak , even with being a very hot team they are 4 games behind the D-Backs. They scored 70 runs in those 8 games so what was a dormant offense seems to have awakened. Pitching Duels Erotic Oliver Perez goes in the first game against hard luck pitcher Chad Billingsley , Perez is 2 - 2 with a plus 4 ERA , only 29 innings pitched in 6 starts with 21 BB and 28 SO , It's his walk year and at this rate he'll be run out of NY. Billingsley is 1 - 5 with a plus 5 ERA with only 27 innings pitched in 7 games, 17 BB with 40 SO , he's pitched better than the win / loss indicates , his last outing against the Marlins he finally got the win , that game was the fourth consecutive time that he SO at least right. His first four starts his team only scored 10 total runs for him. This start will be his first against the Mets. Tuesday Nelson Figueroa goes after being skipped in his last turn due to the rain , he did pitch in relief two days later and went 3 1/3 innings , who knows what to expect from Nelson, he's pitched OK and his first start was a nice story. Hiroki Kuroda seems like a decent pick up by the Dodgers , he sports an 3.82 ERA with 20 SO in 37.1 innings , in Japan he pitched for Hiroshima Toyo Carp . Hiroki wears number 18 which I found out recently from an expert during a radio interview is the number worn by stud pitchers in Japan. Wdnesday John Maine versus Brad Penny in the marque duel at Chavez Ravine to finish out this series , this is a day game with a 3:10 start in the east. Penny is 5 - 11 against the Mets lifetime , 2 - 1 last season . IIRC for a time he couldn't beat the Mets , that may have been when he was with the Marlins. Maine lost twice to the Dodgers last season , John sports a plus 5 ERA against the Dodgers. Dodgers should look something like this. Furcal Pierre Kemp Kent Martin Loney Jones Either A Jones is finished by the looks of things , what happened? kemp kills the Mets , in 15 games with 45 AB's Kemp has 4 home runs with 12 RBI , most of those numbers come against the Mets at home. Joe Torre is the manager for the Dodgers , expect lots of NY media out there asking silly questions and looking for silly angles. The X Factor. Jeff Kent Chan Ho Park Gary Bennett This year the Dodgers celebrate 50 years in Los Angeles . Here are some great pictures from down the years in this wonderful special from the LA Times. 50 Years All Time Dodgers team All Time Team I'm sure that All Time team caused a stir.

  19. Willie says he didn't put a gag on him , perhaps Omar did, intrigue at Shea.
  20. Yeah this was a good series win , during the game last night when Owings pinch hit Gary mentioned that Melvin would more than likely use Micah as the DH during IL road games , and that there were internal talks about playing him at first base at times although that was scraped , fascinating . As mentioned during the game even though he's a pitcher he has to be ready like any position player every day . I suppose all players do but Owings is likely to PH as much as any player.
  21. Did Jackson think the base was right behind him, weird play
